Using the Focusing Handpiece
5.1
Check before Use
NOTICE
Before using the supply fiber and focusing handpiece they must be checked for their proper
functioning using pilot laser light.
Insert SMA-X connector of the focusing handpiece into the SMA-X connection socket of the

laser surgical unit.
Manually tighten knurled nut of the SMA-X connector. Do not use tools!

On laser surgical unit:
Press PILOT key.
•
Select PILOT LASER menu using the rotary
•
knob.
— pilot laser is activated.
Set the brightness of the pilot laser to maximum
•
(100%).
There must be no visible sign of diffused light on the
side.
Low brightness/uneven light distribution
Supply fiber is dirty or damaged.
Replace supply fiber.

Diffused light/unclean or jagged beam
projection
Focusing handpiece or supply fiber dirty or
damaged.
Replace focusing handpiece and supply fiber.
