OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CUTTING
1. Rest the front of the Base Plate (6) on the workpiece with
a pencil mark aligned with the sighting device. Ensure
the blade is not touching the workpiece.
2. Hold the saw firmly with both hands and engage the
Trigger Switch (19). When the saw motor reaches full
rotational speed, guide the saw smoothly along the cut
line.
3. Maintain a consistent feed rate - too fast may put
excessive strain on the motor, too slow may burnish the
workpiece. Avoid any sudden movements of the saw.
4. After completing the cut, release the trigger switch and
allow the blade to stop completely before removing the
saw from the workpiece.
CUTTING VENEERED BOARD
When cutting veneered board or wood less than 20mm
thick, set the blade to protrude 5-10mm through the
work and cut with the good face down. This will reduce
splintering on the good face of the workpiece. When cutting
thicker wood, set the blade to maximum depth to reduce
kickback.
MAKING A POCKET CUT
1. Adjust the depth of cut as required.
2. Adjust the bevel setting to 0˚.
SAW BENCH GUIDE
This saw will fit comfortably into
most saw benches.
• Check that the saw bench is
equipped with appropriate
blade guarding and ensure
that it is properly adjusted and
functioning correctly before
operating.
• Ensure the saw is mounted securely to the bench. Refer
to the manufacturer's instruction manual for mounting
GB
instructions.
• Prior to starting work, manually run the saw along
the table to ensure it runs smoothly and is clear of
obstructions.

3. Raise the Blade Guard Lever (4) to expose the saw blade,
then firmly rest the front of the base flat against the
workpiece with the rear handle raised so the blade does
not touch the workpiece.
4. With the blade just clearing the workpiece, start the
saw and wait for it to reach full speed (approximately 2
seconds).
5. Slowly plunge the blade into the workpiece, using the
front of the saw base plate as a pivot point.
Note: As soon as the blade starts cutting the material,
release the blade guard lever.
6. Commence cutting in a
forward direction to the end of
the cut.
7. Once the cut is complete,
release the trigger switch
and allow the blade to stop
completely. Do not remove the
saw from the workpiece while the blade is moving. If the
corners of the pocket cut are not completely cut through,
use a jigsaw or hand saw to finish the corners.
• Check that the saw bench is fitted with an anti-kickback
device.
• Make sure a suitable safety on/off switch is fitted to
the saw bench. The saw switch may then be locked-
on using a spring clamp, cable tie or similar and then
plugged into the safety socket on the saw bench. This
clamp MUST be taken off when the saw is removed from
the saw bench.
• Using all safety equipment make a test cut in an off-cut
piece of material making sure all guarding is set up
correctly before continuing with bench sawing.
