7. Check that the fittings are not missing, damaged, loose or corroded, and that they reliably guide
the respective stile.
8. Ensure, that no feet or caps are missing, loosened, highly worn off, corroded or damaged.
9. Ensure, that the product is free from contamination (e.g. dust, dirt, paint, oil, fat or snow).
10. Ensure that the locking devices (if present) are not damaged or corroded and function properly.
11. Ensure that no parts or fixings of the platform (if present) are missing and that the platform is not
damaged or corroded.
12. Do not use the product when one of the items listed above is not in order.
➢ The date of the next inspection shall be affixed to the product at a position easily visible to the user.
➢ Inspect welds for cracking or fractures.
➢ Any spindle drive on the project shall be serviced separately in accordance with the operating instruc-
tions provided.
➢ If this product features a winch, this must be serviced separately in accordance with the attached
operating instructions.
➢ Check wire cable and is guide for irregularities.
10 Transport / storage
To prevent any damage and accidents, ensure that the product is securely fastened during transport (e.g.
on a roof rack or in a vehicle). Store the product in a clean, dry location and protect it from the weather.
Observe the following instructions:
1. The product may not be stored at a place where its condition could deteriorate (e.g. dampness,
excessive heat, or exposed to the elements).
2. The product may not be stored, where it may be damaged by vehicles, heavy objects or contam-
inants.
3. Store the product to avoid the risk of tripping or impeding people's movement.
4. The product must be stored in a position which helps it to remain straight (e.g. hung by the stiles
on proper ladder brackets or laid on a flat clutter free surface)
5. The product must be stored securely where it cannot be easily used for criminal purposes.
6. If the product is permanently positioned (e.g. on scaffolding), it must be secured against unau-
thorized climbing (e.g. by children)?
7. Products, made of - or contain thermoplast, thermoset material and reinforced plastic must be
stored where it is not exposed to solar radiation.
8. Eventual loose parts must be fixed before transport (e.g. ropes at rope-operated ladders).

11 Packaging and disposal

Packaging must be disposed of in accordance with the applicable provisions and laws. At the end of the
product's service life, dispose of it in accordance with the applicable regulations.

12 Service life

If used properly and serviced at regular intervals, the product can be used on a long-term basis. If the
manufacturer grants a warranty, the warranty period is valid for the usual service life of the product. Re-
