Adjustment of the spring tension of the feed and
ejector rollers
To adjust the spring tension of the Feed/Eject rollers, turn screw
(G)/(H) Fig. 28 and also the screw on the opposite side of the
Feed/Eject roller.
Anti-kickback nails
Anti-kickback nails (F) Fig. 29 are included in your planer to
prevent kickback. These nails are gravity operated and should be
inspected occasionally to ensure that they are free of resins or
gums so that they can move independently and operate properly.
Verification of height adjustment of feed roller, chip crusher, pressure bar and
ejection rolle
The feed roller, chip crusher, pressure bar and ejection roller are adjusted at the factory.
The feed roller and chip crusher should be adjusted 0.004" below the cutting circle, the pressure bar should
be adjusted 0.004" below the cutting circle, the pressure bar should be set 0.008" below the cutting circle,
and the ejection roller should be set 0.02" below the cutting circle, as shown in Fig. 30. If it is necessary to
adjust the feed roller, chip crusher, pressure bar, or ejector roller, use the example

0.02" below the cutting circle, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply.
2. Ensure that the blades are adjusted correctly, as explained
above in CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE BLADES.
3. Install the gauge block (G) on the table, directly below the
cutting head as shown in Fig. 31. Using a 0.02" gauge (H) Fig.
31 installed on top of the gauge block, raise the work table
until the blade just touches the gauge when the blade is at its
lowest point. Do not move the worktable further until the
ejector roller is adjusted.
