Cutting depth control
The cutting depth scale is a combined millimeter/inch scale (A), Fig. 18,
with a cutting range from 0" to 8". Each full turn of the handwheel
equals 0.059"
Before moving the table up or down, loosen the locknuts (C) as shown in
Fig. 18. After selecting the correct position, tighten the locknuts (C).
Adjustments
Although your planer was carefully adjusted at the factory, it should be
checked before putting it into operation. Any inaccuracies due to rough
handling in shipping can be easily corrected by following these
instructions l.
To check the settings, you will need a ruler, a caliper and a
specially manufactured wooden caliper block. This gauge block
can be fabricated using the dimensions shown in Fig. 19.

When checking the settings, always make sure that
the planer is disconnected from the power supply.
Checking and adjusting the blades
When checking or adjusting the cutting head blades, proceed as
follows:
1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply.
2. Remove the six screws (A), and remove the top cover (B) as
shown in Fig. 20.

4. If it is necessary to adjust one or more blades, slightly loosen the blade clamping bars (C) Fig. 22, of all
four blades by turning the 24 locking screws (D) Fig. 22 on the blade clamping bars, just enough to
relieve the tension on the cutting head and not alter the blade adjustment.
5. Using the blade gauge, adjust the blade to be reset by loosening the six locking screws (D) Fig. 22 by
turning them on the blade clamping bar. As the knife clamping bar is loosened, the lifting springs (E)
located under the knife will lift the knife until it contacts the center protrusion (B) of the gauge (A) Fig.
22. Now tighten the knife clamping bar against the slot by slightly loosening the six locking screws (D).
NOTE: At this time, only tighten the blade into the slot just enough to hold the blade in position

3. To check and adjust the blades, use the blade gauge (A) Fig. 21
and check all four blades. The blades should just touch the
bottom of the center protrusion (B) of the blade gauge, as
shown in Fig. 22.
