Motor pulley and belt assembly and alignment:
1. Install the motor pulley onto the motor shaft with the wrench
and tighten the bolt on the motor shaft, as shown in Fig. 9.
2. Assemble the motor to the motor mounting plate, as shown in
Fig. 10.
NOTE: It is very important that the motor is installed on the motor
plate using the mounting hardware (A). Fig. 10.

Adjusting the table rollers
Your planer has two table rollers (A), Fig. 13, which help feed the
material by reducing friction, and which rotate as the material is
fed through the planer. It is not possible to provide exact
dimensions for the correct height setting of the table rollers, as
each type of wood behaves differently.
However, as a general rule, when planing rough materials, the
table rollers should be set in a high position, and when planing a
smooth material, the table rollers should be set in a low position.

3. Using a ruler, align the motor and cutterhead pulleys as shown in
Fig. 11; the motor plate (B), Fig. 10, can be moved for alignment by
loosening the set screws (C) on the motor plate (B) as shown in
Fig. 10.
4. Install the belts on the two
pulleys as shown in Fig. 11,
and adjust the belts to the
correct tension by lifting or
lowering the motor plate as
shown in Fig. 12. Now
tighten the nuts (A), Fig. 12.
The correct tension is
achieved when you have a
deflection of approximately
1/4" in the center of the
pulleys when applying
finger pressure.
