While operating the appliance there must be certain
precautions and procedures to be observed in order to
avoid loss of control of the appliance and work pieces,
damage to the work area and injury to the user.
▪ Keep your hands away from the blade and cutting
surface, the blade can jump back at you and cause
serious injury. Always hold the circular saw with both
hands;
▪ Never hold a workpiece with your hands or use your legs
as a support while you are working. Secure the
workpiece on a stable and completely stationary surface.
It is important to properly keep the workpiece steady to
minimise the risk of kickback and loss of control;
▪ Do not have or place anything underneath the
workpiece. Under the workpiece, the circular saw guard
cannot protect you from the blade;
▪ When cutting wood lengthwise, always use a guide. This
improves the accuracy and reduces the chance of blade
jamming;
▪ Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the
workpiece. At least one complete tooth of the blade
should be visible below the workpiece;
▪ Before each use, you should check the condition of the
lower guard;
- The lower blade guard is a safety device that reduces
the risk of serious injury. Never operate the circular saw
if the lower guard is missing, damaged or incorrectly
fitted.
- The guard must be totally closed before you start
cutting;
- The guard should move freely in both directions and
not touch the blade or any other parts at all cutting
angles and depths;
- Check the functioning of the protection spring. If the
guard and spring do not function properly, they must be
repaired before use. The lower guard may work slowly
due to damaged parts, sticky residues or build-up of
debris;
- Never clamp or tighten the lower guard in the open
position;
