In the List View and Picture View screen of Listen-In,
touch and hold on the Presenting Stethoscope slot and
select one stethoscope as the Presenter. Repeat with
Listening Stethoscopes slots and select 1-4 stetho-
scopes as Listener(s).
• Note: The Presenter stethoscope section only allows
one stethoscope to be selected, while the Listener
stethoscope section allows 1-4 stethoscopes to be
selected.
• Press the Start Session button at the bottom of the
screen to connect all of the selected stethoscopes and
begin real-time sharing.
• Alternatively, individual stethoscopes can be connec-
ted by a touch on an occupied slot.
• Note: A valid session is not established until a Pre-
senting stethoscope and at least one Listening stetho-
scope are connected.
Listen-In will automatically populate the List View screen
with the stethoscopes from the previous session to allow
the user to quickly and easily reconnect the same ste-
thoscopes. Simply press the "M" button twice on each
stethoscope and press the Start Session button on the
smart phone. Alternatively, connect a different stetho-
scope by a touch and hold on the stethoscope's name,
select "Select a Different Stethoscope" option, and
select another stethoscope from the list.
Troubleshooting
If experiencing difficultly when trying to pair or connect
stethoscopes, consider these aspects:
• Pairing may take 30-60 seconds
• A suitable working range for the stethoscopes and
smart phone is within three metres
➝ R educe the distance between the stethoscope and
the smart phone.
➝ A void having objects or people between the stetho-
scopes and the smart phone.
➝ A void having your hand cover the entire chestpie-
ce of the stethoscope (location of the Bluetooth
antenna.)
• Turn the stethoscope off/on and retry
• Force Close Listen-In in the smart phone settings
menu and retry

• Turn the Bluetooth
menu and retry
➝ S ettings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth
• Replace the battery in the stethoscope (when the
battery depletes and the battery icon is flashing, the
stethoscope will not connect to Bluetooth
• Turn the smart phone off/on and retry
• Ensure that the smart phone is charged (Note: Listen-
In can be used while the smart phone is connected to a
mains socket, in case the battery is depleted).
A stethoscope may disconnect for a variety of reasons
including the stethoscope being out of range, the ste-
thoscope was powered down, a button was inadvertently
pressed, etc. If this happens, the Listen-In will display
a red "X" over the stethoscope's Bluetooth
icon and will tag the stethoscope as being Disconnected
or Connection Error. The stethoscope can be reconnec-
ted by a touch on the stethoscope's name (be Sure to
press the "M" button twice on the stethoscope).
Methods and Techniques for Optimized Sound Quality
When using the 3M
scope, there are several techniques that are important to
consider that can substantially improve your auscultation
experience.

• The sound sensor, where all sound acquisition occurs,
is quite small and located in the very centre of the
chestpiece (lift the edge of the diaphragm and look
for the indentation under the white sticker). The area
around the sound sensor does not contribute to sound
acquisition. Therefore, it is important to focus the point
off/on in the smart phone Settings
