Leave in place
When repositioning is completed, tuck the straps in under the mattress.
Best practices are to have the PositioningSling, disposable left directly under the client at all
times. A flat sheet may be placed between the client and the sling, but results of an independent lab
study demonstrate that the PositioningSling is safe to lay on, even with
specialty mattresses and fragile client skin (per facility approval). The breathability, temperature
and humidity against client skin are comparable to a standard hospital sheet.
Assess client regularly for skin health.
Tip!
-
Use with plain sheets on top of PositioningSling, disposable. For easier positioning a slide sheet, for example
WendyLett, can be recommended.
-
Place the client in the center of PositioningSling, disposable.
-
A balanced fit is a safe fit: position the sling under and around the individual.
-
The extra material in length available with PositioningSling, disposable allows the client to be repositioned
several times before you need to reposition the client on PositioningSling, disposable.
-
Recommended for use with traversing (x-y axis) ceiling lift systems.
-
If possible, consider moving the bed in the first place instead of draw the client when he / she is lifted
from the surface. When using a straight rail overhead lift system, please consider the position of the bed
underneath the ceiling rail so as to ensure the client does not move unexpectedly when lifted.
-
When positioning is completed, the straps/loops of the PositioningSling, disposable can be tucked under the
mattress for safety and neatness.
-
For washing/dressing/medical care of the lower part of the client, a positioning pillow/wedge can be put
behind the back of the client before lowering the sling bar. This makes it possible for the client to keep the
side-lying position, without the sling being in the way for (self-)care activities.

-
For comfort and hygiene purposes place a flat sheet between the client and the sling.
