3.1

Proper use

The UltraHot Plus appliance is designed for residential use by
untrained individuals. The UltraHot Premium is designed for res-
idential and small office use, up to light commercial use such as
larger offices, break rooms, lunch rooms, public facilities, houses
of worship, etc.
Any use contrary or additionally to that described here is consid-
ered use contrary to the specified intended use. Intended use also
includes complying with these instructions and the instructions
for any accessories used.
This non-pressurized appliance heats drinking water almost to
boiling point. UltraHot Plus/Premium appliances are equipped
with a patented automatic boiling point detector. This feature al-
lows the appliance to automatically determine the boiling point
and then reduces the temperature to prevent the appliance from
accidentally boiling dry.
3.1.1 Water filter
Property damage
!
The UltraHot Plus/Premium appliance must be operated
with a water filter when water hardness values are great-
er than or equal to 8.76 gpg (1.5 mmol/l). This will prevent
limescale buildup in the appliance. Using the appliance
without an external water filter at values above these will
void the appliance warranty. Damage to the appliance
caused by limescale or a high mineral concentration is
not covered by the warranty.

3.1.2 Flushing recommendation
Water is one of the most important nutrients there is, and it is
subject to very high standards. To help ensure that the UltraHot
Plus/Premium hot water appliance meets these standards at all
times, we would like to give you a few important tips.
Storing hot water can in certain cases change the taste or smell
of the water. This may be caused by substances in the water that
enter the appliance from outside through the piping. For that
reason, we strongly recommend using a water filtration system.
The act of storage itself can affect the water, regardless of what
material a storage tank is made of. This change usually occurs
when the appliance has not been used for longer periods of
time. The UltraHot Plus/Premium has a high grade stainless steel
(1.4404 | 316L) tank that is fully approved for hot water heating.
In order to prevent unwanted water quality deterioration, observe
the general standards regarding plumbing installations for the Ul-
traHot Plus/Premium. These state that long stand-by periods with-
out usage should be avoided, or that regular flushing is required.
Specifically, we recommend a daily minimum water usage of
around 0.5 gal. (2 liters). If you go without using this minimum
amount for a longer period of time (after around 4 days), please
drain off the entire contents of the appliance (approx. 0.7 gal.
(2.6 liters)), so that you are heating fresh water again. For lon-
ger periods where no water is being drawn, we also recommend
switching the appliance to standby beforehand, and then draining
the tank once completely before resuming normal use.
