Stop engine for electric start model
GY 53LME Model
• To turn off the engine, release the drive lever, then the engine brake lever (3) and wait for the blade to stop.
• Pull the spark plug from the spark plug boot in order to prevent the engine from restarting.
• Before you start the engine again, check the cord for the engine brake. Check that the cord is correctly fitted.
If the cord is kinked or damaged, it should be replaced.
• Remove the battery pack. The battery pack may represent equipment key in some instances.
7. CUTTING TRICKS
• In certain circumstances, such as when the grass is too tall, you may have to increase the height to cut with less effort
and avoid overloading the engine and not leaving piles of grass cut off. You may need to slow down or move again a
second time.
• When it is extremely difficult to cut, reduce the width of the cut, overlap the next cut with the previous cut and reduce
the jerking speed when cutting.
• The grass catcher can accumulate a lot of dirt and this can reduce collection. To avoid this, regularly clean the vacuum
cleaner with a hose and let it dry before using it again.
• Keep the top of the engine and around it clean the straw, grass or blades of grass. This will help the air flow through
the engine and extend your life.
8. MAINTENANCE
IMPORTANT: Careful and regular maintenance is essential to maintain a level of safety and to keep your machine
running well for an extended period of time.
1) Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to ensure that your equipment is operating in optimum safety.
2) Never store the equipment with fuel inside the tank or inside a building where the vapors may come in contact with
a flame or a spark or where it is very hot.
3) Allow the engine to cool before storing it in an enclosed location.
4) To reduce the risk of fire, keep engine, exhaust, battery and area free of grass, leaves or grease. Do not store contai-
ners containing cut grass in the same room.
5) For safety reasons, do not use the equipment with any damaged or worn components. Replace these items and do
not attempt to repair them. Use original components (the blades should always have the seal). Those components that
are not of the same quality may damage the equipment and pose a safety hazard.
6) If you have to empty the fuel tank, do it with the doors open and when the engine is cold.
7) Wear heavy duty gloves when removing or moving the blades.
8) Check blade balance after sharpening.
9) Check the condition of the grass catcher and grass catcher frequently in case of use or damage.
10) Whenever you will use, transport or tilt the machine, you should:
Skin-resistant work gloves.
- Hold the machine by the places that offer the best grip and where it is safer, taking into account the weight and the
distribution.
