HOW TO USE

1.
First insert the power plug in a power socket
2.
Then place a specimen you wish to examine on the microscope table
and fix it in place with the clamps if necessary.
3.
Press the On/Off switch (fig. 1, 5) on the back of the microscope
base.
4.
Turn the lighting setting knob to adjust the lighting as needed (fig.
1, 6). There are three specimen lighting options. Position „I" acti-
vates only the direct light unit (fig. 2, 9). You can adjust this slightly
vertically to give you the best possible lighting.
activates only the transmitted light unit (fig. 2, 10). Position „II"
activates both lighting units. The OFF position switches all specimen
lighting off. As your device has continuously controllable lighting
(dimmer) (fig. 1, 18 optimal illumination of the object to be viewed
is guaranteed.
5.
You can then adjust the binocular sight to the gap between your
eyes. Look through the binocular sight (fig. 1, 1) and adjust the space
between the two eyepieces whilst doing so (fig. 1, 3) until you see
only a single image.
6.
The specimen will still not be wholly correctly focussed, though.
Turn the focussing wheel (fig. 1, 7) until the image is really sharp.
7.
Specimens of various sizes can be examined with the Advance ICD
Microscope. Just change the lens unit height to adjust the micr
oscope to the specific specimen. This is done by loosening the
microscope arm clamp (fig. 2, 11) and adjusting the height to the
specimen. When you're finished tighten the clamp again. To fix the
lens unit in place undo the height limit clamp (fig. 2, 12) and push it
until it is below the microscope arm. Then tighten the clamp again.
8.
As eyesight differs dioptre compensation is built into your
microscope. Adjust the rotatable eyepieces to their centre setting
(fig. 2.13). Now look through the binocular sight. Close your right eye
and use only the left to look through the eyepiece. Adjust until the
specimen image is sharp. Now close the left eye and look through
the eyepiece with the right eye. If the image is unclear turn the
dioptre compensation (fig. 2, 13) until the image is in focus. The
instrument is now adjusted for both your eyes.
9.
To change magnification turn the zoom adjustment (fig. 1.8). This
continuously adjusts magnification between 1x and 4x. Actual mag-
nification is calculated by multiplying the zoom by the eyepiece value
(10x or 20x).
10. To replace the lenses (fig. 1, 3) undo their fastening screws using a
small screwdriver. Do not unscrew them too far. After replacing the
lenses the screws can be carefully retightened.
11. To increase microscope magnification use the Barlow lens supplied
(fig. 5). Screw the Barlow lens carefully into the mounting provided
for it (fig 1, 14).
Replacing the microscope table plate
In addition to the transparent plate a plate with a white and a black side
is included. This plate is used to improve contrast.
