TIDY TRACK
INSTRUCTIONS
Choose Cleaning or Scrubbing Pads
• Use Cleaning Pads (light gray) for general cleaning.
• Use Scrubbing Pads (dark gray) for wheels with heavy grime build-up. Always use Cleaning Pads after Scrubbing Pads to remove excess residue.
• Cleaning Pads are pre-installed.
How to Install Roto Pads™
1. Remove backing paper from Roto Pad. Align Pad in channel on either side of the center rail. Butt Pad up against outside edge of channel and press
in place (Fig. 1). Repeat with other Pad. Pads include repositioning tape for easy adjustment.
2. Rotate Pads 180º when showing signs of excessive wear along inside edges. Replace Pads when worn out.
Clean Locomotive Wheels
1. Set transformer to off and speed controller to 0. Transformer can be in forward or reverse position.
2. Power Roto Wheel Cleaner™ (Three Options: a, b or c).
a. Insert Power Connector plug into Roto Wheel Cleaner jack (Fig. 2). Attach alligator clips to DC track connection on transformer (Fig. 3).
b. Insert Power Connector plug into Roto Wheel Cleaner jack. Attach alligator clips to working track (Fig. 4).
c. Place Roto Wheel Cleaner on working track. Align grooves on bottom with rails. When cleaning wheels, place fingers on both sides of one of the
end guards and apply slight downward pressure (Fig. 5). This will keep the Cleaner from sliding on the track.
3. Place locomotive in center of Roto Wheel Cleaner. Wheels should make contact with power rails on both sides of center guide.
4. Turn on transformer. Increase speed slowly until locomotive bumps against end guard. Adjust speed to between half and three-quarter power (do not
operate at high speed).
5. Manually pull engine back to rear end guard and roll forward (Fig. 6). Apply slight downward pressure. Repeat for approximately 10-15 seconds.
6. Adjust speed to 0 and turn transformer off. Manually inspect wheels. Repeat process if necessary.
Clean Rolling Stock Wheels
1. Disconnect power to Roto Wheel Cleaner.
2. Place rolling stock in center of Roto Wheel Cleaner. Wheels should make contact with power rails on both sides of center guide.
3. Roll car back and forth manually for approximately 10 seconds (Fig. 7). Be sure couplers clear end guards. Apply enough pressure to depress center
guide and allow wheels to roll along top of Pads. Do not apply excessive pressure. Manually inspect wheels. Repeat process if necessary.
