FIAP BioSkim Active
To guarantee stability the lid of the surface-suction device and the waste-basket have to be mounted
while the device is built in or encased in concrete. To avoid material pollution of the stainless steel
threads you should first screw the flat head screw, with a cross slot M5 x 14 mm, into the stainless
steel flange. If the stainless steel threads pollute anyway, you can easily clean them with a M5
screwplate.
The pond-foil or the pond-mat must be removed with a hole punch at the grommets of the screws, to
prevent pond-foil or pond-mat from getting into the flange.
Before mounting the counterflange the skimmer-weir must be installed on the side of the tank.
One of the two flat gaskets has to be mounted between the surface-suction device and the pond-foil,
the second one between the pond-foil and the counterflange on the side of the tank.
Cleaning and maintenance
Read security instructions first! The FIAP BioSkim Active requires very little maintenance and it is very
animal-friendly. A user-friendly handle allows simple removing and cleaning of the waste- and leave-
basket. Clean the waste-basket without chemical cleaners, regularly and if necessary. Never add the
water care products directly into the device ( tablets into the dosage-swimmer or dosage-station, all
others dissolve first).
Storage and overwinter
The device has to be turned off when water temperatures under 8 °C or latest when the first frost
comes. Lower water level to 15 cm under the skimmer-opening and remove the sieve waste-basket.
Empty out the device, clean it properly and check for possible damage. The storage place has to be
inaccessible for children. Cover the device so that no rain-water will get into it. Empty out all hoses,
pipes and connections. The guarantee covers no frost-damage.
Wearing parts
The FIAP BioSkim Active sieve waste-basket and the EPDM gasket are wearing parts and are not
under guarantee.
Disposal
The device must be disposed by the national laws. Please ask your specialist dealer.

Solution
- Support the streaming with a
waterfall or inlet nozzles.
- Remove plants or stones in
front of the suction-opening.
