- Retaining bracket
- Fig. 7 – applies for vehicles from CW 22/2014 until CW 45/2014
- Connect the connecting cable (E) with the flat sleeve to the corresponding end on connec-
tion point 122. Use the contact protective cap to secure the wire (F). Connect the other end
of the wire (flat sleeve) to connection point F 21.
- Connect the red/green wire to connection point F 28A.
- Connect the grey/black wire to connection point F 38A.
- Connect the red wire to connection point F 44A.
- Connect the red/white wire with flat sleeve to connection point F 21A.
- Insert the corresponding fuses (G, H, J) into the wired connection points.
- Insulate the remaining red/white wire with double sleeve and secure it to a suitable location
on the wiring harness in such a way that it cannot work loose. The 15 A ATO fuse (H) and the
connecting cable (D) from the set are left over.

- Connect the connecting cable (E) with the double sleeve to the corresponding end on con-
nection point 121. Use the contact protective cap to secure the wire (F). Connect the other
end of the wire (double sleeve) to connection point F 22.
- Connect the red/green wire to connection point F 28A.
- Connect the grey/black wire to connection point F 38A.
- Connect the red wire to connection point F 44A.
- Connect the red/white wire with double sleeve to connection point F 22A.
- Insert the corresponding fuses (H, J) into the wired connection points.
- Insulate the remaining red/white wire with flat sleeve and secure it to a suitable location on
the wiring harness in such a way that it cannot work loose. The 15 A MINI fuse (G) and the
connecting cable (E) from the set are left over.
Note. On right-hand drive vehicles, it is difficult to access the retaining
bracket. Connect the wires in accordance with the workshop's
practices.
- BCM control unit
- Connect the black/red wire to the black/red wire in plug C – PIN 58.
- Connect the orange/brown wire to the orange/brown wire in plug A – PIN 17.
- Connect the orange/green wire to the orange/green wire in plug A – PIN 16.
- Connect the black/violet wire to the black/violet wire in plug A – PIN 14.
Note. To avoid a collision with other components located underneath
the console, secure the wires on the retaining bracket and the BCM
control unit using cable ties underneath the console. At the same time,
it must still be possible to remove the retaining bracket, as well as the
plug on the BCM control unit.
Check that all the wires of the wiring harness for the tow bar are securely attached and
seated. The wires must be attached in a way that they cannot be damaged and that no
interference noise occurs while driving.
