3.2 Intended use

The EMICOgauge instrument hook-up is used to measure pressure in the process indus-
try. Using the shut-off and venting function(s) of the instrumentation valve, the measuring
instrument can be safely separated from the process. Due to conformity with TA-Luft
(VDI 2440), there is a significantly reduced risk of fugitive emissions. This is also ensured
by the EMICOgauge connection, a 360° swivel connection (swivel adapter) with a special
pressure sealing. This connection enables easy replacement and the positioning of the
measuring instruments at the measuring location.
The EMICOgauge is only suitable for gaseous and liquid aggressive media that are not
highly viscous or crystallising.
The maximum permissible operating pressure of the EMICOgauge is determined by the
component(s) having the weakest performance data.

3.3 Improper use

WARNING!
Injuries through improper use
Improper use of the instrument can lead to hazardous situations and injuries.
6
Refrain from unauthorised modifications to the instrument.
Do not use the instrument within hazardous areas without suitable appro-
val.
Do not use the instrument with abrasive or viscous media.
