CLEANING, SANITISATION, DISINFECTION AND STERILISATION (for hospital use).
Switch off the device before any cleaning procedures and always unplug the power cable from the socket.
CLEANING
Device and tubing exterior
Use only a damp cloth with antibacterial soap (non-abrasive and with no solvents of any sort).
Dispenser and accessories
Use of the dispenser and accessories must be personal to avoid any risk of contagious infection. Disassem-
ble the dispenser as shown in the "Connection diagram", sec. C1.
SANITISATION
Before and after each use, sanitise the dispenser and accessories C1 and C2 with potable hot water (approx-
imately 40°C) with a gentle dish detergent or in the dishwasher with a hot cycle.
After having sanitised the accessories, shake them vigorously and place them on a paper towel. Alternatively,
dry them with a jet of hot air (for example, a hair dryer).
DISINFECTION
Accessories C1-C1.1 and C2 can be disinfected
(method A) The disinfection procedure described in this paragraph is to be followed before using the acces-
sories. It is effective on the parts that undergo this treatment only if each step is followed and only if the parts
to be treated have previously been sanitised.
The disinfectant must be an electrolytic chloroxidizer (active principle: sodium hypochlorite) specific for dis-
infecting, which is available in any pharmacy.
Procedure:
- Fill a container big enough to hold all of the parts to disinfect with a solution of potable water and disinfect-
ant, according to the proportions indicated on the packaging of the disinfectant.
- Completely immerse each part in the solution, taking care to avoid the formation of air bubbles on the parts.
Leave the parts immersed for the amount of time indicated on the packaging of the disinfectant associated
with the concentration chosen for the solution.
- Remove the disinfected parts and rinse abundantly with warm potable water.
- After having disinfected the accessories, shake them vigorously and place them on a paper towel. Alterna-
tively, dry them with a jet of hot air (for example, a hair dryer).
- Dispose of the solution following the instructions provided by the disinfectant manufacturer.
(method B) Disinfect the accessories by boiling in water for 20 minutes. It is required to use de-mineralised
or distilled water to prevent calcium deposits.
- After having disinfected the accessories, shake them vigorously and place them on a paper towel. Alterna-
tively, dry them with a jet of hot air (for example, a hair dryer).
3. Connect accessories as indicated in the "Connection diagram" on the
cover. Sit comfortably holding the dispenser in your hand and put the
mouthpiece on your mouth
4. Start the device by means of switch (A1) and breathe deeply in and out.
5. Upon completing application, switch off the device and unplug it.
NEO SPIRE can be repeatedly used throughout the day in sessions of
about 15 minutes, as prescribed by your doctor.
6. You can insert the dispenser in its support (A4) if a break is needed dur-
ing the therapy session; this prevents contaminating the mouthpiece
by placing it on dirty surfaces.
7. If after the therapy session an evident deposit of moisture forms within
the pipe (B), detach the pipe from the nebuliser and dry it with the
very ventilation from the compressor; this operation prevents possible
blooms of mould inside the pipe.
