Laser Range and Speed Finder on. The following is visible on the LCD (A)
3. Operation of Laser Range Finder
The RFS-700 has two modes: RANGE mode (default) and SPEED mode. Shortly press the MODE button to
select a mode. When RANGE mode is chosen, "Range" will appear on the top of the LCD. Press the START
button shortly. The metering unit is now visible in the lower part of the LCD.
Press the START button continuously, to start the distance measurement. The measured data will be displayed at
the lower section of the LCD. Release the START button to stop measuring.
The laser indicator " " will blink when laser is transmitting. When metering a distance and the reflection of an
object is too weak, the LCD will show "- - - -". If the measurement is successful, QUALITY>>>>> will appear
at the lower section of the LCD. The more arrows > are visible, the stronger the reflection is. There are six grades
set for the quality of reflection. While metering a distance, the LCD shows e.g. as follows (B) and (C).
4. Operation of Laser Speed Finder
When SPEED mode is selected, "Speed"will appear on the top of the LCD. Press the START button shortly to
start metering of speed. While metering the speed, you always have to aim the moving object. It must achieve
measurement of speed in within 20s. Otherwise the START button must be pressed once again.
While the speed of the object being measured, the laser indicator " " will blink, the arrow > keeps blinking at
the lower LCD section and the speed will be displayed.
Users have to aim the moving object to get the speed data and the direction of speed measurement needs to be
in line with the direction of the moving object. Otherwise the measuring results will not be correct.
While metering the speed, the LCD shows as follows (D) and (E).
How to shift the Distance and Speed Units
Distances can be measured in meters indicated with "M" or Yards indicated with "Y". In RANGE mode press the
MODE button for a longer while to shift "M" to "Y" or vice versa.
Speed can be measured in km per hour indicated with "KM/ h"or in meter per second indicated with "M/S".
In SPEED Mode press the MODE button for a longer while to shift "KM/h" to "M/S". When the speed unit is
"M/S", the first two digits are single and tens digits, the third is radix point displayed as "-", the fourth digit is
decimal, if the data is 12.8m/s. it is displayed as " 12-8M/S ".
Notes:
• Laser Metering
The measuring distance of this laser range and speed finder is related to the nature of your object, the trans-
mission of beams with the angle of the object's surface and the weather visibility. In general, if the surface of the
object is smooth, bright and large, the beams are upright to the surface of the object and the weather is clear,
longer distances can be measured.
• Automatic Power Off
If the RFS-700 is not in use for 20s or more, it will automatically shut off to save the battery's power.
Care and Maintenance
Low Battery Indicator
• When " " appears, the battery power is insufficient which can cause measuring errors. The battery must be replaced by a fresh one. If the RFS-700 is not used
for a longer while, we recommend removing the battery.
• Do not touch the surface of the lens so as to prevent the coating from damages. If the external lens is stained, please clean it with the supplied cleaning tissue or
another soft and dry tissue.
• Collision or high pressure should be avoided when carrying or using the RFS-700. Keep it away from fire and prevent corrosion.
• Store the RFS-700 Range and Speed Finder at a dry, cool and airy place. Avoid dust, direct sunshine and extreme change of temperature.
Subject to change.
