When sawing, ensure a firm and secure
footing and hold the chain saw firmly.
Only then release the chain brake – pull
hand guard as far as possible towards
the handlebar (position ‚).
Take special care when the bark is wet –
danger of slipping!
Before releasing the chain saw, always
ensure it cannot be accidentally
switched on again – activate chain brake
by pressing the hand guard forward
towards the tip of the bar (position ƒ).
One-handed operation is
especially dangerous –
e. g. when cutting dry,
knotty and dead wood,
the chain does not bite
into the wood properly.
The machine may skate
or bounce on the wood
due to reactive forces,
causing the operator to
loose control of the
machine. Increased risk
of kickback – risk of fatal
injury!
The tree surgery chain saw may only be
used with one hand if:
two-handed use is impossible
it is necessary to use one hand to
secure the working position
the chain saw is held firmly
all parts of the operator's body are
outside of the extended swivel
range of the chain saw

When sawing with one hand:
never hold onto the branch that is to
be cut
never use the nose of the guide bar
never try to hold falling branches
In case of imminent danger or in an
emergency, switch off the chain saw
immediately, set the hand guard to ƒ
and remove the battery from the chain
saw.
This machine can be used for work in
the rain or wet. Dry the machine if it is
wet after use.
Exercise caution with slippery surfaces,
water, snow, ice, steep slopes, uneven
ground or green wood that has just been
stripped of its bark – danger of slipping!
Use caution with tree stumps, roots,
ditches – danger of stumbling!
Do not work alone – keep within calling
distance of others who are trained in
emergency procedures and can provide
help in an emergency. Helpers at the
cutting site must also wear protective
clothing (helmet!) and stand well clear of
the branches being cut.
More care and attention than usual are
required when wearing ear protection,
as warning sounds (shouts, beeps, etc.)
cannot be heard properly.
Take a break in good time to avoid
tiredness or exhaustion – risk of
accidents!
Dust (e. g., sawdust), fumes and smoke
produced while using the machine may
be hazardous to health. If dust is
generated, wear a dust mask.
Examine the saw chain periodically at
short intervals and as soon as you note
any tangible changes:
Turn off the chain saw, wait until the
saw chain has stopped moving,
remove battery
Check condition and secure fitting
Check sharpness
Never touch the chain saw when the
machine is running. If the saw chain
becomes jammed by an object, switch
off the chain saw immediately, set the
hand guard to ƒ and remove the battery
before attempting to remove the object –
risk of injury!
Before leaving the machine unattended,
switch off the chain saw, set the hand
guard to ƒ, remove the battery to
prevent accidental start-up and fit the
chain scabbard.
To change the saw chain, switch off the
machine, set the hand guard to ƒ and
remove the battery from the chain saw.
Risk of injury from the motor starting
unintentionally!
The chain saw is equipped with a
system for stopping the saw chain
quickly – the saw chain stops
immediately if the trigger switch is
released – see "Coasting brake".
Check this function at regular short
intervals. Do not operate the chain saw
if the saw chain continues moving when
the trigger switch is released – see
"Coasting brake" – risk of injury! Contact
your servicing dealer.
Never work without chain lubrication –
monitor the oil level in the oil tank. Stop
work immediately if the oil level in the oil
