The product includes a protection against attempts to blind it: when an obstacle is placed
in front of the device's lens (10-20cm) a tampering alarm is triggered.
Caution - The Anti-blinding function excludes compliance with standard EN50131
Caution - To clean the product, and the lens in particular, place the control unit in Test
mode.
2 - INSTALLATION
Warnings
• Determine the fastening position and height for HSDIM23 depending on the protection
area to be obtained: see fig. 3 and fig.4.
• Carefully check the shape of the area to protect; if in doubt, prior to the final installation,
it is advisable to fasten the product temporarily and run the tests, and then make any
necessary adjustments.
• The use of the wall mounting bracket for HSDIM23 makes it easy to replace the batter-
ies by attaching and releasing the sensor from the bracket. To release the sensor, use the
special attachment lever (fig. 5).
01. Select the bracket fastening position, ensuring that it is compatible with the overall
dimensions of the detector: it must be possible to reach the release lever (fig. 5), and
enough space must be available to release and attach the detector.
02. A - Wall mounting: drill two holes for the insertion of the wall plugs and one hole for
the magnet, which is required for the anti-removal protection. Then, fasten the bracket
with the plugs (fig. 6-A) (fig.11);
B - Fastening with joint mod. HSA4: fix the joint to the wall (see specific instruction
manual) and then fix the bracket to the joint as shown in (Fig. 6-B). Caution! – By
using the joint HSA4 the anti-removal tamper function is lost. N.B.: The use of the
HSA4 joint excludes compliance with standard EN50131.
03. Arrange the control unit for the HSDIM23 learning phase (see the instruction manual of
the control unit).
04.Open the battery compartment as shown in fig. 7 and remove the insulation tab that
keeps the batteries disconnected: HSDIM23 emits two series of 3 beeps and its self-
learning program starts; this is confirmed by 1 beep emitted by the control unit (3
beeps indicate that the device is already programmed).
05. Open the detector as in fig. 8 and follow the programming of the dip switches and
jumper JP1 (fig. 2), referring to chap. 3 - Programming; then perform the operation
"Test", see paragraph 3.1.
06.Close the container and attach HSDIM23 to the mounting bracket (fig. 5).
3 - PROGRAMMING
HSDIM23 has 6 "dip-switches" and one jumper JP1, which allow for the programming
of certain operating parameters (fig. 2): see Tables 1, 2.
3.1 - Programming procedure and operation "Test"
01. Program the infrared detector with 1 pulse per alarm: dip-switch 3 = OFF (Table 1).
02. Program the "sensitivity" of the PIR infrared detector: dip-switches 1-2 at the mini-
mum value necessary (Table 1).
