The R-080270 (Terra I), R-080280 (Terra II) and R-080290 (Terra III) are three practical
sandblasting booths specially designed for micro-blasting small workpieces for the dental
prosthesis sector. To obtain optimum performance from these units, proceed as follows:
INSTALLATION
1. Carefully unpack the unit. Inside the booth you will find the following accessories:
6 / 8 mm compressor connection tube (Terra II, Terra III).
-
4 / 6 mm compressor connection tube (Terra I).
-
Bag filter (Terra I, Terra II, Terra III).
-
Two protective coverings for the sandblaster glass (R-080270-50).
-
2. Set up the unit on a flat, rigid surface well away from any sources of vibration or heat, in an
environment which is not too humid. Too much humidity could lead aluminium oxide particles
to compact in the booth, and clog the micro-blasting nozzles. Locate the unit at a height
where the objects in the booth can be handled comfortably.
3. Connect the tube provided with the unit to the air inlet (J) on the right hand side of the booth.
Connect the other end to an air outlet at a pressure of no more than 5 bar.
4. Connect the inside light to 230 V, 50/60 Hz with earth.
5. Position the pedal (E) of the micro-blasting gun within reach of your foot, where it can be
worked comfortably (Terra II and Terra III only).
6. Cover the floor of the booth with aluminium oxide (approx. 3 kg) with particle diameter less
than 250 microns. While spreading the aluminium oxide, take care to cover the area around
the filter on the left hand side inside the booth.
7. Remove the top threaded stopper (F) from the tank of the micro-blasting module, and fill the
vessel with a grinding medium with particle diameter less than 250 microns, leaving at least
30 mm clearance at the top of the brass tube (Terra II and Terra III only).
Grinding medium heights of less than 35 microns are not recommended. Screw the tank
stopper (F) back in place, ensuring that the seal is tight (Terra II and Terra III only).
PRESSURE REGULATION
The blowing pressure of the fixed micro-blasting gun is the same as the pressure at the air
outlet (compressor). This pressure may be regulated between 2 and 5 bars to suit the nature
and characteristics of the work in hand. It should never exceed 5 bars.
To adjust the pressure use the pressure regulator, which limits the output pressure from the
compressed air unit.
The pressure of the moving gun micro-blasting module (Terra II and Terra III) can also be
regulated between 2 and 5 bars, bearing in mind that the upper limit depends on the blowing
pressure of the air unit used. In any event, it should never exceed 5 bars.
To adjust the pressure in the micro-blasting unit, pull up the pressure regulator knob and turn it
to the desired setting.
