9. When work is completed, move the slide on the fixed gun valve (B) fully back. Keep the
exhauster working for a few seconds to remove all dust particles from inside the booth.
10.Turn off the exhauster and open the booth lid to remove the workpiece.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
To ensure a long service life for the unit, proceed as follows:
• Always use high-quality grinding medium. Talleres Mestraitua, S.L. recommends MESTRA
medium. The fixed micro-blasting gun (nozzle diameter 3 mm) can blow material with a
particle diameter of less than 300 micron. The moving micro-blasting module gun of Terra II
has a nozzle diameter of 1.25 mm and can handle grinding medium up to 250 microns in
diameter. The Terra III has a gun with a diameter of 1.25 mm, and the other gun has a
diameter of 1 mm and can handle grinding medium up to 150 microns in diameter. If grinding
media with diameters greater than 200 microns are used in the fixed gun, remove the filter at
the end of the gun tube in the booth.
• Use dry piston air compressors whenever possible. Oil particles in the blowing air can cause
lumps of sand which will clog the gun nozzles.
• The grinding medium discarded by the moving micro-blasting gun (Terra II, Terra III) can be
used in the fixed gun. However, never fill the micro-blasting module vessel with grinding
medium from the booth floor, since large-diameter particles may clog the nozzle of the
moving gun.
• To prevent abrasion and wear on the inner booth walls, always point the jet at the rubber pad
on the rear wall when using the micro-blasting module (Terra II, Terra III).
• Stir up the grinding medium inside the booth periodically, and at the same time clean the filter
hood on the left-hand side of the booth.
• For an overall cleaning of the unit, use a dry cloth or moistened with a proper product.
If a moving gun (Terra II, Terra III) becomes clogged, remove the nozzle-holder nut with an M-
12 fixed wrench and remove the nozzle from inside. Unclog the nozzle with a pin or a thin wire,
and refit it on the moving gun.
If the fixed gun becomes clogged, unscrew the nozzle-holder manually and remove the blowing
nozzle from inside. Unclog with a pin or a thin wire, and refit.
The moving gun on the micro-blasting module Terra II is factory-supplied with a 1.25 mm
diameter nozzle. However, 1 mm and 0.75 mm nozzles can also be fitted: consult your
MESTRA dealer. The moving guns on the micro-blasting modules Terra III are factory-supplied
with a 1.25 mm and 1 mm. diameter nozzle. The table below shows the grinding medium
