Each main scoreboard comes with a serial cable that needs to be connected to the Command Console; to install
the serial cable correctly, follow the directions below:
• under any circumstances, do not pass the cable through the same conduits used for the cables of the
electrical system, both for safety reasons as well as to avoid electrical disturbances from motors, air
conditioners, generators, etc.;
• avoid placing the cable where it may be exposed to high temperatures, mechanical damage or vandalism;
• make sure that 50-100 cm of the serial cable remains free and exits the top of the scoreboard about midway
between the brackets;
• if you want a point of disconnection near the Command Console, use a short extension cord.
The construction of a 50 m long cable is simple if you use a normal flat 8-way telephone cable, RJ-45 modular
connectors, and a suitable pair of pliers; for longer distances, we suggest using a standard straight-through
network cable (EIA/TIA-568A/B). In environments where disturbing electrical equipment is present (motors, air-
conditioners, inverters, microwaves, etc...), we suggest connecting each single wire of the network cable as
indicated in Fig. 5.1.

NSTALLATION ON WALL
Before installing the assembled scoreboard on the wall (see chapter 3), we suggest first running a check test (see
chapter 7.2) by temporarily connecting the scoreboard to the Command Console and to the mains power supply.
6.1.
Selecting the correct position
Select the position on the wall where you want to install the scoreboard; the board should be installed high
enough on the wall to prevent possible attempts at vandalism, but not too high to inhibit proper maintenance. Be
reminded that the FS-1xx series scoreboards are resistant to damage from balls and therefore no additional front
protection cover is required.
Check to make sure that the wall is strong enough to support the weight of the scoreboard and that the dowels
provided are suitable for the type of wall and environment (e.g., possible corrosion due to dampness). If the
dowels are not suitable for the wall, replace them with appropriate ones. Consult a professional in the field.
6.2.
Installing the scoreboard
Before installing the scoreboard on the wall, measure the distance between the top two holes of the brackets. The
holes are in the shape of eyelets, therefore it is necessary that you take the measurement starting from the center
of each hole.
1. Make two holes in the wall at the proper distance (see above). The dowels provided require holes 10 mm in
diameter. Remove all dust caused by drilling from inside the holes with a high pressure air gun and cylindrical
brush in order to ensure a tight hold.
2. Insert a dowel in each of the holes and then screw in the screws by working the nut with a 13 mm wrench (see
Fig. 6.1); insert the washers.
3. Fasten the scoreboard to the wall by fitting the eyelets at the top of the brackets over the screws. Insert the
remaining washers and end nuts, tightening them with the 13 mm wrench.
4. The scoreboard is now adequately installed. However, seeing that there are also lower bracket eyelets, you
may also wish to fasten the bottom part of the scoreboard to the wall; this will help to prevent possible
oscillation. Proceed as follows.
