8.8 Controlling a PTZ camera

When one or more cameras are connected that can be
remote-controlled (pan, tilt, zoom, focus etc.), they may be
conveniently controlled by means of the recorder.
1) Use the left mouse button to click the live image of the cam-
era to be controlled. (In the single-image mode, simply press
the left mouse button.) The quick-selection bar will appear:

2) Click the icon
. The control window will appear:

3) To exit the control window, click the image with the right
mouse button.

8.9 Deleting data

When you want to dispose of the recorder or plan to give
(e. g. sell or lend) it to a third party, make sure to delete all
recordings and passwords: Format the hard disk and reset the
recorder to its factory settings. Otherwise, you will pass on your
recordings, personal data and passwords with the recorder.
1) Call up the main menu.
Either press the button MENU on the remote control
or use the mouse:
To show the toolbar, press the right mouse button or move
the mouse pointer to the centre of the lower edge of the
screen.

2) In the bar located at the top of the menu, click "Device".

3) Select the hard disk: In the column "Select", click the line
with the hard disk (see mouse pointer in the figure above).
4) Click the button "Format HDD". The window "Login"
will appear:

5) When a password has been defined, enter the password.
Click "Login". The following confirmation window will
appear:

6) Click the button "OK". A status bar will appear, indicating
the formatting progress. When formatting has been com-
pleted, the following message will appear:

7) Click "OK": The available capacity and the available
recording time will be shown.

8) To delete all passwords and other data, reset the recorder
(see next chapter).
