PROBLEM
• Energized Housing
• Excessive noise when is ON. Blown
fuse
• The output current is too small. There
is no arc starting or the arc is
unstable
• The winding is hot, generates smoke
and the fuse blow
• The arc is not initiating or it is hard to
light the arc after the welder is on
• The cooling fan is not working
correctly
• Excessive noise when welding

TROUBLESHOOTING

ANALYSIS
1. The primary winding is grounded
2. The secondary winding is grounded
3. The primary and secondary winding are
making contact with the shunt. (There is
continuity between the housing and any input
terminal and output of the welder).
4. The input cable is making contact with the
housing
1. Short circuit in the primary and secondary
coil.
2. The cables adaptors are making contact.
3. the fuse is to small
4. A 110 V~ welder is connected into a 220 V~
voltage
1. The input voltage is too small and undulates.
2. The connection between the welding cable
and the converter output side is not properly
fastened resulting in excessive resistance.
3. Worn screw and regulation nut.
1. There is overload when operating
2. Partial short circuit in the primary and
secondary winding
3. The cooling fan is failing to work
4. A 110 V~ welder is connected into a 220 V~
voltage
1. There is no input voltage from the power
source
2. The switch is in the OFF (0) position
3. Partial short circuit in the winding
1. The fan motor coil is burnt
2. There is no contact. Is connected
1. Uneven gap between the mobile shunt ant the
static shunt
SOLUTION
1 - 3. Take the welder to a Truper® Authorized
Service center to be repaired.
4. Place the cable in a position where is not
making contact with the welder housing.
1. Take the welder to a Truper® Authorized
Service center to be repaired.
2. Keep the cables separated.
3. Replace the fuse with another one with
the capacity adequate for the welder
ampere consumption.
4. Connect following the instructions
1. Adjust the input current to the nominated
value or increase the main power supply
capacity.
2.
Double check there is an output
connection from the converter
3. Take the welder to a Truper® Authorized
Service center to be repaired.
1. Stop the operation. Start back the
operation complying with the duty cycle
requirement after the winding has cooled
off
2-3. Take the welder to a Truper® Authorized
Service center to be repaired.
4. Connect following the instructions
1. Check the input voltage switch, the fuse
and the input cable to assure they work
properly.
2. Press the welder switch into the ON (I)
position
3. Take the welder to a Truper® Authorized
Service center to be repaired.
1-2. Take the welder to a Truper® Authorized
Service center to be repaired.
