4. NEVER USE THE UNIT ON SLOPES.
5. ENSURE THAT PARTS OF THE BODY BECOME CAUGHT IN THE LIFTING
MECHANISM, UNDER THE FORKS OR UNDER THE LOAD. NEVER
TRANSPORT PEOPLE ON THE UNIT.
6. THE OPERATOR SHOULD WEAR GLOVES AND SAFETY SHOES FOR HIS
OR HER OWN SAFETY.
7. NEVER TRANSPORT UNSTABLE OR LOOSELY STACKED OBJECTS.
8. NEVER OVERLOAD THE UNIT.
9. NEVER LOAD THE PLATFORM ON ONE SIDE OR MAKE IT TOP-HEAVY
OR PLACE LOADS THAT STICK OUT OVER THE EDGE OF THE
PLATFORM.
10. THE CAPACITY OF THE UNIT ASSUMES THAT THE LOAD WILL BE
PERFECTLY BALANCED FOR TRANSPORT WITH THE CENTRE OF
GRAVITY IN THE CENTRE OF THE FORKS AT THE FRONT.
11. ENSURE THAT THE LENGTH OF THE FORKS IS THE SAME AS THE
LENGTH OF THE PALLET.
12. LOWER THE FORKS AS FAR AS POSSIBLE WHEN THE UNIT IS NOT IN
USE.
II. To adjust the lever functions
The control lever (1017) can be set to three positions:
LOWER = to lower the forks
NEUTRAL = to drive the unit
ASCENT = to raise the forks
1) Tighten the setting screw (3133B) in the handle (3134B) until the "LOWER" setting
works.
2) If the forks can only be raised when the control lever is in the "NEUTRAL" position, the
setting screw (3133B) must be turned clockwise until the pump function to raise the forks
has been disabled and the "NEUTRAL" setting therefore works properly.
3) If the forks lower during the pumping process in the "NEUTRAL" setting, the setting
screw (3133B) must be turned anti-clockwise until the forks no longer move downwards.
4) If the forks no longer move downwards when the lever (1017) is in the "LOWER" setting,
the setting screw (3133B) must be turned clockwise until such time as raising the lever
(1017) causes the forks to be lowered. Now check whether the "NEUTRAL" setting, as
described in 2) and 3) works properly.
5) If the forks cannot be raised during the pumping process when the lever (1017) is in the
"ASCENT" setting, the setting screw (3133B) must be turned anti-clockwise until the
forks start to rise in this setting. Now check the "NEUTRAL" and "LOWER" settings
again as described in 2) + 3) + 4) to ensure that they work properly.
