PPE Model: cod. 121004 - mod. FETTUCCIA
PPE FEATURES
The sling connector is a PPE against falls and it complies with EN 354 - EN 795 class B and EN 566 standards.
The sling connector can only be used by one user at a time.
PPE DESCRIPTION
The sling connector consists in a 21 mm wide and 80 cm long polyester webbing. Webbing endings are sewn forming a closed
sling. The sling connector can be used:
- as an anchor device, to connect a fall arrest system to a structural anchor point,
or
- as a components of a fall arrest system, together with an energy absorber.

PRE-USE INSPECTION
Before each use, a person who is going to use the PPE, has to execute a close
visual examination of all components, in order to check if some mechanical,
chemical or thermal defects are present. If some doubt arises about the good
condition and the right functioning of the PPE, it has to be withdrawn from
use. Then the PPE must be sent to the device manufacturer or to his certified
representative to carry out a detailed inspection and the eventual repair.
USING THE SLING CONNECTOR AS ANCHOR DEVICE (EN 795)
1 - Put the sling connector around a construction element (structural ancho
point) (drawing A);
2 - Connect the sling endings with an oval type snap hook (drawing B1);
or
Put one ending of the sling through the second one and then connect a snap
hook (drawing B2);
3 - Connect the fall arrest system to the oval type snap hook (drawing C).
ATTENTION: The sling connector can be equipped only with certified snap
hooks (according to EN 362). In order to avoid any accidental opening of the
snap hook, always check that the gate is protected with the locking gear.

A
Only use vertical anchor
points.
Do not use anchor points
with narrow or sharp edges.
The use of the sling connector as a component of mountain climbing equipment must be compatible with the mountain
climbing equipment instructions and in compliance with the standards in effect:
- EN 12275: for connectors
- EN 12277: for harnesses
- EN 567: for rope lockers
- EN 958: for energy dissipaters used for climbing protected climbing routes
TRIANGULAR FORCE DISTRIBUTION
The greater the angle of aperture between the bindings increases, the higher the load exercised on the anchor points.
To avoid this problem, use bindings of an appropriate length.
USING THE SLING CONNECTOR AS A
COMPONENT OF A FALL ARREST SYSTEM
(EN 354)
1 - Connect one ending of the sling connector to
the structural anchor point, with a min. static
resistance of 12 kN:
with a snap hook (drawing 1)
or
with a snap hook and an additional connector:
a lanyard (drawing 2) or an anchoring hook
(drawing 3).
2 - Connect the other ending of the sling
connector to the energy absorber:
with a snap hook (drawing 4A)
or
by putting one sling ending through the
second one (drawing 4B).
3 - Connect the formed fall arrest system to the
attaching point of the full body harness
(drawing 5).
ATTENTION:
- The fall arrest system must be connected to
the structural anchor point complying with
B1
B2
EN 795 standard or to a structural fixed point
situated above the job place with a min. static resistance of 12 kN. The shape of the structural anchor point should not let
self-acting disconnection of the device.
- The total length of a sub-system, including a sling connector, an energy absorber and two connectors, shall not exceed 2 m.
- When the sling connector is used as part of a connection-absorption system, it must always be used with an energy absorber
which limits the maximum dynamic force exercised on the user at 6 kN in case of a fall arrest. Thus it is strictly forbidden to
connect the full body harness' attaching ring to the structural anchor point with a sling connector without the energy absorber.
- The length of the sling connector must always be taken into consideration in the fall arrest system, because this influences
the length of the necessary fall arrest tract.
- The sling connector can be used at temperatures ranging between -30°C to +50°C.
- Two separate sling connectors, each with an energy absorber, cannot be used side by side (parallel).
C
- Always make sure that the product label is legible.
