Transport
WARNING
Risk of injury from carrying heavy loads and inadequately securing
loads for transport!
▶ Use suitable means of transport.
▶ Secure the cylinder to prevent it falling.
▶ Move packed cylinder with a sack truck and lashing strap
( Fig. 7, page 37).
-or-
▶ Move unpacked cylinder with a transport net, during handling,
protect connections against possible damage.
5

Mounting method

The cylinder is delivered fully assembled.
▶ Check that the cylinder is complete and undamaged.
5.1

Installation location

NOTICE
Risk of damage from inadequate load-bearing capacity of the
installation surface or unsuitable floor surface!
▶ Ensure that the installation surface is level and offers sufficient load-
bearing capacity.
▶ Install the cylinder in a dry frost-free interior.
▶ If there is any danger of water accumulating on the floor of the
installation location: place the cylinder on a plinth.
▶ Observe the minimum wall clearances inside the installation room
( Fig. 8, page 37).
5.2

Fitting temperature sensors

Assembly is also possible once the insulation has been installed.
▶ Observe the technical guide when positioning the sensor.
▶ Apply heat conducting paste to the contact surfaces.
▶ Push the temperature sensor into the sensor pocket up to the catch.
▶ Mark the temperature sensor leads according to how the sensor is
being used; do this at the end of each lead.
▶ Route the sensor lead to the control unit, ensuring it will be possible
to install the insulation.
▶ Establish the electrical connection to the sensor leads. In doing so
observe the installation instructions for the control unit.
5.3

Setting up the cylinder

NOTICE
Material damage due to excessively low ambient temperature.
If the ambient temperature is below 15 °C, the foil jacket tears while
closing the zipper.
▶ Heat the foil jacket (in a warmed-up room) to above 15 °C.
 Fig. 9ff, page 38
▶ Remove packaging.
▶ Remove casing lid and, if necessary, insulation.
▶ Remove the foil jacket and store it temporarily.
▶ Unscrew the cylinder from the pallet. Retain the screws for
alignment.
▶ Position the cylinder and align with the fixing screws.
▶ Fit the top insulation and casing lid.
▶ Remove the bung from the connector.

5.4

Hydraulic connection

Before installing the pipework:
▶ Install the thermal insulation/foil jacket.
Observe the technical guide when establishing the hydraulic connection.
DANGER
Risk of fire from soldering and welding!
▶ As far as possible, carry out any soldering and welding work before
installing the thermal insulation.
▶ Take appropriate safety measures when soldering and welding as the
thermal insulation is combustible (e.g. cover thermal insulation).
▶ Check the integrity of the thermal insulation after completing work.
NOTICE
Water damage from leaking connections.
▶ Fit all connecting pipework free from stress.
To avoid damage to the cylinder:
▶ Use installation material on the heat source side that is
temperature-resistant up to 90 °C.
▶ Only use the cylinder in sealed systems.
▶ Never use open, vented expansion vessels.
We recommend using screw fittings with shut-off valves to connect
pipework to the cylinder.
▶ Install a drain valve on site at the lowest point of the bottom
connection.
▶ Vent the heating water side of the cylinder during filling via the air
vent valve at the top of the cylinder.
5.5

Immersion heater (accessory)

▶ Install the immersion heater in accordance with the separate
installation instructions.
▶ Once the cylinder is fully installed, inspect the protective conductor.
This should also include the metal connection fittings.
