Step 3 Install your hard drives onto the removable drive tray carefully. Insert the major and
secondary hard drive tray in turn into the system. Push the handle back.
Step 4 Use the corresponding cable provided in the accessory kit to connect the port in the back of
MR2 to the corresponding port in your computer in your preferred interface. Your computer's
operating system will identify MR2 automatically at this time. Please follow the instructions
given by the operating system to format the hard drives. Once the formatting has been
completed, the system is ready for use.

5. How to Switch between the RAID Modes

Storage Mode Definition
Independent mode ( JBOD ) :
Speed mode ( Raid 0 ) :
Safe mode ( Raid 1 ) :
The default setting of MR2 is RAID 1. To change the setting, please shut off the power first, and use
the switch under hard drive tray to change RAID settings. Please refer to the diagram below. (When
you switch between RAID modes, all the data in hard drives would be erased. Please make sure
that data has been backed up before switching between RAID modes.)
