to adjust to the ambient temperature before putting it into operation. The
precision of the measuring tool may be compromised if exposed to extreme
temperatures or variations in temperature.
Avoid substantial knocks to the measuring tool and avoid dropping it.
f
Damaging the measuring tool can cause accuracy to be compromised. If
the laser line is subjected to a substantial knock or is dropped, check it by
comparing it to a known horizontal or vertical reference line.
Switch the measuring tool off when transporting it. The pendulum unit is
f
locked when the tool is switched off, as it can otherwise be damaged by big
movements.
Switching On/Off
Environmental factors can influence results. Nearby instruments can generate magnetic
or electromagnetic fields. Moisture, metal reinforcement, aluminium cladding,
insulation materials, wallpaper conductivity, and the conductive capacity of carpets/
mats or tiles can also influence the results. Please take all these factors into account
before starting any drilling.
For optimum results:
- avoid wearing jewellery (rings, watches, bracelets) when using the device.
- move the tool evenly over the surface without lifting or changing the pressure
applied.
- the tool must always be in contact with the surface during detection.
- make sure you do not put your fingers on the detected surface.
- always perform detection very slowly for maximum sensitivity and accuracy.
- make sure the device is not wet before switching it on. If necessary, dry with a soft,
clean, dry cloth.
Switching on/off and calibration
To switch on the meter, press the On/Off switch (B-Fig.A).
Press the key (C-Fig.A) to select the metal detection mode.
At this point, if the steel bar, copper pipe or stainless steel pipe icon appears on the
screen while the device is not placed on metal, calibration is required. To perform
calibration, place the measuring device on a metal-free surface; free from strong
magnetic interference (for example, you can hold the device in the air with your hand).
Then press and hold down the button (C-Fig.A) until the display shows the interface
(Fig. G).
Metal detection (steel bars, electrical cables, copper pipes)
The maximum metal detection is 100 mm.
Press button (B-Fig.A) to switch on the detector. Then press button (C-Fig.A) to enter the
metal detection mode. Place the instrument on the surface to be detected and move
