Bump action
The bump action mode is used for rapid nailing on
fl at, stationary surfaces.
• Fit the black trigger as described above.
• To drive a single nail: Operate the tool as
described for sequential action.
• To drive several nails: Pull the trigger fi rst, and
then push the contact trip repeatedly against the
work surface.
Do not keep the trigger depressed when
the tool is not in use. Keep the trigger
lock-off switch rotated to the right to
prevent accidental actuation when the
tool is not in use.
Dry fi re lockout
To protect the tool from damage, these tools are
equipped with a dry fi re lockout. The dry fi re lockout
prevents the tool from actuating when the magazine
is nearly empty. When approximately 4 or 5 nails
remain in the magazine and the tool ceases to
operate, follow the loading instructions to load sticks
of collated nails. See "Loading the tool".
Clearing a jammed nail (fi g. E)
If a nail becomes jammed in the nosepiece,
follow these instructions to remove the nail:
• Disconnect the airline from the tool.
• Lock the trigger with the trigger lock-off switch.
• Remove all nails from the magazine.
• Flip up the cam latch (12).
• Push and hold the cam latch fi rmly inward as
shown by the arrow (13) until the narrow portion
of the latch pin (14) is exposed.
• At the same time, slide the magazine (4) rearward
as shown by the arrow (15) to expose the bent
nail.
• Remove the bent nail, using pliers if necessary.
• If the driver blade is in the down position, push
the driver blade upward using a screwdriver.
• If the nail cannot be removed with the magazine
retracted to the fi rst stop, remove the magazine
from the tool entirely. This can be accomplished
by holding the cam latch (12) fi rmly inward while
pulling the magazine rearward until it separates
from the tool.
• To reattach the magazine, insert the latch pin (14)
into the magazine bracket, align the front end
of the magazine with the nosepiece pegs (16),
push inward on the cam latch (12) and slide the
magazine onto the tool.
• Slide the magazine forward to the fully closed
position.
• Press the cam latch (12) into the locked position.
• Connect the air hose to the fi tting on the tool.
• Load nails into the magazine.

If nails become jammed in the nosepiece
frequently, have the tool serviced by an
authorised D WALT service centre.

Depth Setting (fi g. F)
To reduce risk of serious injury from
accidental actuation when attempting to
adjust depth, ALWAYS:
• Lock OFF trigger.
• Disconnect air supply.
• Avoid contact with trigger during
adjustments.
The depth that the nails are driven can be adjusted
using the depth adjustment on the nosepiece of the
tool.
• To reduce the depth, press the unlock button (17)
in. Slide the contact trip (3) down. Press the lock
button (18) to secure contact trip.
• To increase the depth, press the unlock button
(17) in. Slide the contact trip (3) upward to the
extent desired. Press the lock button (18) to
secure contact trip.
Belt/rafter hook
These tools have an integrated belt/rafter hook.
The hook can be rotated to either side of the tool
and can be folded out of the way when not in use.
To remove the belt/rafter hook:
• Remove the air hose from the fi tting on the tool.
• Use pliers or a wrench to remove the nut for the
belt/rafter hook from the end cap of the tool.
• Remove the belt/rafter hook, washer and detent
spring.
