CONTROL AND MONITORING DEVICES
Warning
!
Before making the connections to the electricity and water
supplies, the user must become familiar with the devices for
controlling and monitoring the operation of the appliance
To do this, follow the instructions in this manual and refer to
the relative figures.
SAFETY DEVICES
The safety devices serve to protect the user and the appliance.
They must not be tampered with or used for anything other than
their intended purpose.
Safety valve: This serves to protect the high pressure water
circuit in the event of a by-pass valve malfunction or if there is
a blockage in the circuit itself. The safety valve is calibrated by
the manufacturer and sealed. Operations involving the safety
valve must be performed by a technical service centre only.
Flow switch: This cuts in to deactivate the appliance if the
water flow rate is too low.
Safety device on lance handgrip: Prevents the trigger on the
handgrip from being operated accidentally.
Thermal cutout: The thermal overload cutout shuts the appli-
ance off in the event of the electric motor overheating.
CONNECTION TO THE
WATER SUPPLY
The appliance is designed to
allow connection to a water
main or to a tank.
Connect one end of the hose
to the main (fig. 4A).
Connect the other end to fitting
"B" on the appliance or, in the
case of connection from a
tank, to fitting "C". (Fig. 4)
Check that the main provides
water at a sufficiently high flow
rate and pressure to operate
the appliance. Required pres-
sure 200 - 400 kPa.
Maximum water inlet temper-
ature 50 °C. (122 °F).
Connect the high pressure
hose to the appliance (fig. 4D)
and to the lance (fig. 5).

The appliance must operate
with clean water.
Water containing dirt or silt,
corrosive chemicals or sol-
vents will seriously damage
the appliance.

Never suck up liquids containing solvents or acids in the pure
state, for example, petrol, paint solvents or diesel. The atom-
ized spray from the lance is highly flammable, explosive and
poisonous.

Do not connect the appliance to drinking water containers.
- Failure to observe these requirements is seen as negli-
gent use of the product and will release the manufacturer
from all liability.
CONNECTION TO THE ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY
The appliance must be connected to the mains power supply by
a professional electrician operating in compliance with current
standards and regulations.
Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage
of the appliance as indicated on the identification data plate.

- The power cable must be protected from accidental pinching/
crushing.
- Do not use the appliance if the power cable is damaged.
- The following fundamental rules must be observed when using
any electrical equipment:
• do not touch the appliance with wet hands or feet;
• do not use the appliance when barefoot or dressed in unsuit-
able clothing;
• do not unplug the appliance from the mains socket by pulling
the power cable or the appliance itself.
(for appliances having a rated power less than 3 kW, fitted
with a plug).
The appliance is classified as Class I with regard to protection
against electric shock.

Wear safety shoes with non-slip soles.
Wear protective goggles or visor and safety
garments.
Always wear overalls when operating the ap-
pliance, to reduce the risk of injury caused by
