WORKING INSTRUCTIONS

RESET/CALIBRATION PUSH-BUTTON
The RESET push-button makes it possible to initialize the detector and automatically acquire
the parameters of the loop connected for correct functioning.
N.B. Making sure that there is no metallic mass on the loop, press the RESET push-button
to carry out an automatic calibration of the detector.
The RESET push-button must be pressed each time the position of one more dip-switches
is varied.
LED (Fig. 3)
- RED LED PRESENCE OF POWER SUPPLY
This LED remains always ON when the power supply is present.
- RED LED STATE OF TESTING OF THE LOOP
This LED comes ON when there is a vehicle on the loop or when the Loop is defective.
This LED can also be used to establish the frequency of the loop. When doing the reset
(RESET), count the number of times that the LED blinks. Multiply this number for 10KHz.
For instance: if LED blinks 6 times, then the frequency is in between 60KHz and 70KHz.
- RED LED DEFECTIVE STATE OF LOOP
This LED comes ON when the circle of the loop is open or when there is a short circuit,
and it is used to signal when the loop is defective.
SETTING AT WORK
- Realize the connections for the undecal socket as shown in Fig. 3 and subsequently insert
the detector as shown in the same figure.
- Set up the frequency through the dip-switch 6 as shown in TABLE 1. The change of
frequency is mainly useful to avoid interference between two near loops (2-3 m); in this
last case it is necessary to set up different frequencies. As a general rule the frequency
must be low for large loop and high for small loop. In most cases, it is recommended
that the frequency is set on the LOW value (DIP 6 ON).
- Set up the sensitivity through the dip-switches 7-8-9 as shown in TABLE 1. Setting the
sensitivity allow to forbid the detection of metallic body with little dimensions such as
bicycle and motorcycle.
- The impulsive exit can be enabled by using the dip-switch 1 (Diagram 1)and it is possible
to select a time between 0,2 seconds (DIP 1 in OFF) and 1 second (DIP 1 in ON).
- If the Exit presence is used, the relay comes on when a vehicle is detected by the loop and
stays on all the time until the vehichle leaves the loop area.
- Be sure that there is no metallic mass on the loop, and press the RESET push-button to
carry out an automatic calibration of the detector.
- Carry out sensitivity tests with the various types of vehicles that the device must detect.
If necessary, vary the setting of dip-switches 7-8-9 until the desired sensitivity level is
obtained.
In most cases, it is recommended that the sensitivity is set on the LOW value (DIP
6 ON).
- If necessary, set the function "SENSITIVITY AMPLIFIER" by using the dip-switch 5.
METHOD BY IMPULSE
By means of DIP-SWITCH 2 it is possible to select the intervention of the relay:
- If in OFF =>
the relè activated immediately at the commitment of the loop;
- If in ON =>
relè activated at the release of the loop.
PERMANENT PRESENCE
If the DIP 3 is ON, this ensures that the detection of the vehicle is maintained even when
parked on the loop for a long period.
FILTER OPTION
By means of DIP 4 (ON), you can select a delay of 2 seconds between interception of the
vehicle and switching of relè output.
This delay is normally used to prevent erroneous detection of small or fast moving objects.
Activating the DIP 10 in ON, the result will be an extension of time of the impulsive output
of 2 seconds.
