1. Remove plug – Remove plug by hand from center of the rear bumper fascia.
2. Insert plate support – Using a 3/4" socket, remove (2) hex bolts and conical washers holding the support plate on the hitch. Insert support plate into the opening on
top of safety chain loop of the bumper beam. Keep the position of weld nuts of plate support on top while inserting.
3. Install Hitch – a.) Raise hitch into position and b.) loosely install (1) 3/4" bolt with (1) flat washer.
4. Install bolts of plate support - Loosely install (2) 1/2" bolts with (2) conical toothed washers from bottom of the hitch into the weld nut of support plate.
5. Tightened 3/4-10 X 3.00 GR8 fastener to 380 ft-lb and 1/2-13 X 1.75 GR5 fasteners
to 75 ft-lb with torque wrench.
6.
Install bolt cap - Install (1) bolt cap on head of 3/4" bolt.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
