INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Rate: 300 g/h (4.1 kW) under 1 bar Butan pressure - injector n° 016511
Thank you for buying this CAMPINGAZ
CHALUGAZprofil is a powerful blowtorch which is particularly easy to use.
CHALUTORCHprofil is a very powerful blowtorch which is very practical to use thanks to a trigger which enables
you to adjust the heat flow from minimum to maximum.
These appliances offer the following features:
• a good grip, thanks to their pistol-like form,
• brass burners producing a long, fine, pointed flame
• valve-controlled flame adjustment
• a complete range of accessories to facilitate various tasks (soldering, brazing. paint-stripping, the burning of
wood, wrought iron, etc.)
• operates on:
- butane: direct connection without pressure regulator (Fig. 1 & 2),
- propane: with propane pressure regulator 1.5 - 4 bar (Fig. 3).
I - SUPPLY
Follow these instructions to connect your CHALUGAZprofil and CHALUTORCHprofil to gas containers:
• Blowtorches are supplied with a G2 Ø21.7mm connector, with 1.814mm left thread (as per EN15202)
Therefore, this product can only be connected directly on this type of butane cylinder.
To connect to a propane cylinder, you should use the DR2 propane regulator sold as an accessory (Fig. 3)
- To connect to other cylinders as mentioned above:
®
Use CAMPINGAZ
To connect directly, use an adapter (refer to the gas cylinder supplier for further details)
II - PREPARATION FOR USE
When connecting your blowtorch to a gaz cylinder, always work in a ventilated area, where there are
no flames or sources of incandescent heat (cigarettes, etc.).
Check that the hand wheel adjuster on the handle of your appliance is completely closed (turn it as far as it will
go towards the mark "-").
1 . On the CAMPINGAZ
To connect the appliance to CAMPINGAZ
a) Check that the rubber seal is in place on the relay valve (accessory).
b) Close the hand wheel adjuster on the relay valve.
c) Screw the relay valve onto the CAMPINGAZ
d) Check that the rubber seal is in place in the nut of the blowtorch hose.
e) Screw the nut of your blowtorch onto the threaded end mounting of the relay valve.
2 . On 13 kg cylinder (Fig. 2 & 3):
a) For appliances with a 13-kg type coupling nut at the end of the hose, check that the black rubber seal is in
place on this nut.
b) Then screw the coupling nut of your blowtorch, either onto the closed valve of the butane or propane cylinder,
or onto the threaded end mounting of the propane pressure regulator 1.5-4 bar, which is already mounted
on the cylinder.
III - OPERATION
Your blowtorch is now connected and ready for use.
To operate: open the various valves located between the cylinder and your blowtorch (cylinder valve, regulator
valve, if present, or CAMPINGAZ
1 . Igniting the CHALUGAZprofil :
a) Next open the hand wheel adjuster (Fig. 4) located on the handle of your blowtorch and introduce a flame
to the burner.
b) Adjusting the flow of the CHALUGAZprofil:
• To increase or decrease the flow from the appliance, turn the hand wheel adjuster to the left or right.
• The pilot light position is obtained manually by adjusting the flame to the "mini" setting.
2 . Igniting the CHALUTORCHprofil :
a) Next open the hand wheel adjuster (Fig.5) located on the handle of your blowtorch and introduce a flame to
the burner without pressing the trigger.
b) Adjusting the power of the CHALUTORCHprofil :
• Adjust the tick-over flame to the setting desired by turning the hand wheel adjuster situated on your blowtorch
towards the mark "+" or "- "without pressing the trigger.
• To obtain the full flow instantly, i.e. the full flame strength, squeeze the trigger (operating position Fig. 7).
• To return instantly to the previous setting of mini flow, release the trigger (waiting position between 2 tasks
Fig. 6).
• To obtain a constant full flow without squeezing the trigger, turn the hand wheel adjuster located on the handle
of your blowtorch towards the mark "+".
3 . Adjusting the temperature of the flame (Fig. 8 & 9):
The temperature of the flame is adjusted by blocking off the air intake openings of the burner to a greater or
lesser extent, using the air setting ring. Squeeze the two wings of the ring simultaneously and slide it ring along
the body of the burner.
a) Air intake openings completely uncovered : maximum flame temperature 1850ºC: hard soldering position
(Fig. 8)
b) Air setting ring partially blocking off the air intake openings: maximum flame temperature 1400ºC : soft
soldering position (tin, lead) or work which does not require selective heating (aluminium soldering) (Fig. 9).
The temperature of the flame is maximum when it is as blue and as long as possible, this is the ideal position
for carrying out hard soldering work.
4 . Extinguishing the blowtorch:
a) Begin by completely closing the valve on the gaz cylinder, then all the intermediary valves.
b) Finally, turn the hand wheel adjuster situated on the handle of your blowtorch to the mark "-", after having
waited for the gaz contained in the hose to finish burning.
IV - MAINTENANCE
Ensure that the hose does not come into contact with hot or sharp items.
If the hose becomes cracked or shows other signs of external damage (wear and tear, burns, breaks), return
the appliance to your retailer. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHANGE THE HOSE YOURSELF.
V - ADAPTABLE NOZZLES AND ACCESSORIES
A large range of nozzles and accessories are available to enable you to carry out a variety of different types of
work:
BP 300 : Flat nozzle burner for stripping paint from wood and metal, the laying of plastic tiles, and various heat-
ing and burning tasks. BP 300 is screwed onto the L 300 nozzle after unscrewing the end cap of the nozzle.
Recommended usage: 1 to 1.5 bar.
USING THE BP300 FLAT NOZZLE:
The flat nozzle should be used at reduced flow or with partially blocked air inlets. Once the flame is stable (bright
blue and about 1cm long at the burner outlet), progressively increase the flow.
TS 30 : For various tin soldering work: electricity, small boiler jobs, galvanising and pyrography. Recommended
usage: 1 to 1.5 bar.
FC 350 : Burner creating an envelopping flame. Increases power on joints up to 22 mm in diameter. Facilitates
all hard soldering work and also, some brass welding tasks. Output 300 g/h.
DR 2 : Adjustable pressure regulator 1.5 bar - 4 bar.
Enables perfect versatility when working with propane and almost doubles the output from each nozzle.
