2.1.- FRONT PANEL DESCRIPTION

The controllers are designed to be mounted in a standard 19" rack. They are DIN-unit high. For rack
mounting, there are four holes in the front panel to fasten the units to a rack with metric screws (M5 or M6).
A) POWER SWITCH
When lit, the red power led indicates that the controller is in operation.
B) MODE-SWITCH (CT-1 MKIII, CT-1000, CT-2000)
CT-1 MKIII
Switches the controller's mode of operation between Bi-amp<-> Full range.
CT-1000 and CT-2000
Switches the controller's mode of operation between 2 way<->3 way.
C) LIMITER INDICATOR LEDs ( CT-28V2, CT-28V3, CT-1000, CT-1500, CT-1800, CT-2000 only )
When lit, the LEDS indicate that the limiters are operative. Each LED indicates limiting for a different
frequency output.
When the unit's limiters are on, the signal level is reduced to eliminate amplifier clipping, reducing the
possibility of amplifier or loudspeaker damage. A severely clipped signal from an amplifier will rapidly burn a
loudspeaker voice coil. Furthermore, clipping produces distortion, which is fatiguing for the listener and adds
a harsh quality to the sound.
The LEDs also indicate the failure to select a valid position on the internal mini-DIP-switch controlling
the limiters. For more information regarding the limiters, see the Appendix.
D) HIGH FREQUENCY BOOST SWITCH ( CT-1 MKIII only )
Activates or deactivates the high frequency boost (+7dB at 16 kHz). Low frequency boost is fixed but
dependent on the operating mode (+3 dB@ 45 Hz in Full-Range, +6 dB @ 45 Hz Bi-amp).
E) GAIN CONTROL
CT-1 MKIII
Sub-bass gain control operational only when the switch is in the Bi-Amp position.
CT-1000, CT-2000
Gain control for low, mid and high frequencies are operational in the 3-way mode. In the 2-way
mode, the LOW frequency control, as well as the output, are deactivated.
CT-28V2, CT-28V3, CT-1500, CT-1800
Gain control for each output.
