Apply a liberal amount of cork
grease to all joint corks. Use your
fingers to rub the grease into the
corks
Join the barrel and the upper joint
together by gently twisting.
Connect the lower joint and the
bell in the same way. Connect the
upper and lower joints together
while depressing the top joint keys.
This will allow the lower bridge
key to slide under the top bridge
key without damaging them.
Insert the mouthpiece into the
barrel.
Moisten your reed in water or in
your mouth. Align the reed tip
with the end of the mouthpiece.
Carefully slide the ligature over
the top and tighten its screws to
gently hold your reed in place.
