7.- ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS.
Qualified staff should make electrical connections.
Before making the motor connections, check that the electrical parts on which you are
going to work are not connected to the power supply.
The ground cables (yellow/green) should be connected to the ground circuit of the
system before connecting up the other conductors.
The length and the rated amperage of the motor must be considered in order to calculate the size of the
cables for power supply.
Connect the terminals as indicated in the diagrams that are in the final page and/or inside the terminals
box. Make the earthing connection of electropump using its own terminal. Make sure that also mains have
a proper earthing connection.
Some single-phase motors are internally equipped with thermal circuit-breaker. This protection is
connected on the winding of the motor
Switch off the mains before doing any maintenance work. The motor could be stopped
by means of internal thermal breaker.
Anyway, for both three-phase and single phase motors it's necessary to connect them to
the mains through an adequate electrical protection, múlti-pole circuit breaker and
differential switch (current sensivity of 30 mA) with at least 3mm opening distance
between contacts.
The maximum difference allowed between the actual voltage supply and motor rated voltage is +-
5%.
TAKE CARE
Check that the values for the voltage and frequency of the supply mains coincide with
the ones indicated on the motor characteristics plate, depending on whether this is star
or delta connection.
and is provided with automatic reset when the motor cools.
