Intended use
Your D21805/D21810/D21815 percussion drill has
been designed for professional drilling and impact
drilling as well as for screwdriving applications.
DO NOT use this tool under wet conditions or in
presence of fl ammable liquids or gases.
This percussion drill is a professional power tool.
DO NOT let children come into contact with the
tool. Supervision is required when inexperienced
operators use this tool.

Electrical safety
The electric motor has been designed for one
voltage only. Always check that the power supply
corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

no earth wire is required.
WARNING: 115 V units have to be
operated via a failsafe isolating
transformer with an earth screen
between the primary and secondary
winding.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by a specially prepared cord available through the

WALT service organisation.

Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fitted:
• Safely dispose of the old plug.
• Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in the
plug.
• Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING: No connection is to be made
to the earth terminal.
Follow the fitting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Recommended fuse: 3 A.
Using an extension cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved
extension cable suitable for the power input of this
machine (see technical data). The minimum
conductor size is 1.5 mm
. When using a cable

reel, always unwind the cable completely.
Assembly and adjustment
WARNING: Prior to assembly and
adjustment always unplug the tool.
Selecting the operating mode (fi g. B)
The tool can be used in two operating modes:
Rotary drilling: for steel, wood and
plastics.
Percussion drilling: simultaneous
rotating and impacting for concrete and
masonry drilling operations.
● Select the required operating mode by rotating
the mode selector (5) to the required position.
Inserting and removing a bit (fi g. A)
● Open the chuck by turning the sleeve (9)
counterclockwise and insert the bit shank.
● Put the chuck key (10) into each hole in the
side of the chuck and turn clockwise until tight.
● To remove the bit, proceed in reverse order.
Fitting the side handle (fi g. A)
The side handle (6) can be fi tted to suit both RH-
and LH-users.
