TESTING PROCEDURES
Check that any tester switch is set to OFF and that the knobs are all at the minimum setting in
counter-clockwise direction apart from the LAMBDA that must be located at approximately half stroke.
Connect a product to be checked and a stepper motor to wiring no. 13.
On the product, position switches 1-2 to OFF and 3-4 to ON to obtain a standard configuration of the
described procedure.
Set the switch +12 V Batt. to ON. The central units carries out the RESET and the motor reaches the
default condition. Set the switch +12 V Sc to ON. On the tester the RED LED OUT BENZ. turns on.
By rotating the LAMBDA knob in both directions, you will see the CPU LED turn on and off.
This is necessary to check the correct connection of the oxygen sensor with the GASOLINE running
vehicle. As a matter of fact, this signal enters the product and comes out without being altered.
Set the switch +12 V Gas to ON. On the tester, the RED LED OUT BENZ. turns off and after some
seconds the YELLOW LED CPU starts blinking, while on the product the RED LED turns on.
Rotate the T.P.S. knob in clockwise direction: the RED LED on the product starts blinking, while the
motor starts moving.
By rotating the LAMBDA knob in both directions, you can observe that by rotating it towards minimum
the motor moves opening the duct; vice versa, by rotating it towards maximum the motor closes and
in the approx. middle position it stops. If you connect a tester to the product, you can check the
lambda signal operation and the various functions connected to the tester use.
Connect the product to testing wiring no. 3 and connect the faston elements in the following way:
Faston 1 = BLACK wire; Faston 2 = BLUE wire; Faston 4 = RED wire; Faston 5 = GREY wire.
The remaining faston elements do not have to be connected.
Check that any tester switch is set to OFF and that the knobs are all rotated in counter-clockwise
direction.
Once the product has been connected, set the switch +12 V Batt. to ON.
Set the switch +12 V Sc to ON. The YELLOW LED CPU on the tester will turn on.
Set the switch +12 V Gas to ON. The YELLOW LED on the product will turn on immediately and the
YELLOW LED CPU on the tester will turn off after a slight delay. By setting the switch +12 V Gas to
OFF, you go back to the previous condition (product LED off and YELLOW LED CPU of the tester on).
The YELLOW LED on the product will turn on immediately and the
YELLOW LED CPU on the tester will turn off after a delay.
This delay depends on the trimmer position:
- trimmer completely rotated in counter-clockwise direction-delay ≅ 0.
- trimmer completely rotated in clockwise direction-delay ≅ 1 sec.
Connect the product to testing wiring no. 3 and connect the faston elements in the following way:
Faston 1 = BLACK wire; Faston 2 = RED wire; Faston 3 = GREY wire; Faston 4 = RED-BLACK wire.
The remaining faston elements do not have to be connected.
Check that any tester switch is set to OFF and that the knobs are all rotated in counter-clockwise
direction.
Once the product has been connected, set the switch +12 V Batt. to ON.
Set the switch +12 V Sc to ON. The YELLOW LED CPU on the tester will switch on at the same time as
the RED LED on the product.
By setting the switch +12 V Sc to OFF, the two LEDs are turned off.
