- The total length of a sub-system that has a lanyard with an
energy absorber, manufactured endpoints and connectors
should not exceed two metres (#4).
- Two lanyards equipped with shock absorbers should not be
used side-by-side (#3).
- Similarly, for a shock absorber model with Y lanyard, the
unused end must not be attached to the harness (#3). (Unless

lanyard, especially when there is a possible load on a sharp
edge.
DESCRIPTION :
The lanyard complies with the EN354 :2010 standard. It has
been designed to be used as a component of a restraint or
work positioning system as per the EN 363 standard, as soon as
there is a risk of falling from a height.
The lanyard may be single or double (Y) without an adjustment
system. It is made of:
• 30 mm wide polyester webbing (NLSxxyy / NLSYxxyy series).
The sewn termination and sewn and sheathed termination
on the identification side – Optionally, the loop can be
strengthened using a heat shrink sheath.
• Polyamide cord with braided sheath of Ø10.5 mm (NLDxxyy
/ NLDYxxyy series). The terminations are sewn, sheathed, and
have thimbles.
The lanyard is usually delivered with or without connector
(fixed or detachable) and according to varying lengths from 0.3
m to 5.0 m (#2).
VERIFICATIONS :
- Ensure by visual inspection that the equipment is in good
working condition and free of defects before, during and
after its use: condition of lanyards, sewn parts, connectors.
Check to ensure that there is/are no wearing, cuts, fraying,
initial signs of breaking, deformation, traces of oxidation,
knots or discolouration and ensure that all the markings
are legible (identification and/or date of validity). Check the
proper condition of the connectors and ensure that they are
functioning properly.
- If there is any doubt on the reliability of the equipment, do
not use it without getting the written authorisation of a person
who is authorised to decide on its reuse.
- During assembly with other safety components, check the
compatibility of each of the components and ensure that all
the recommendations contained in the instructions of the
products and the applicable standards relating to the anti-fall
system are applied. It is important to particularly ensure that
the safety function of any of the components is not affected
by the safety function of another and that they do not interfere
with each other.
- The total length of the lanyard equipped with a shock
absorber lanyard with its connectors must not exceed 2 metres.
- Before every use of a fall-arrest system, the empty space
(clearance) required under the user must be verified so that, in
case of a fall, there is no collision with the ground, or with a fixed
or moving obstacle that is within the fall trajectory.
Avoid straying too far from the anchorage point to limit the
extent of a possible pendulum fall.
USE :
- During use, check the equipment on a regular basis. Its
components must be protected from any environmental
