Observe and touch each component of the product in order to detect possible anomalies. If one or more checkpoints are defective, the
harness must be withdrawn from service and replaced by a compliant device. The use of this document for periodic inspection is reserved for
competent persons.
Inspect the visual aspect of the product; the device must be verifiable.
Straps: Verify the condition of the straps; there should be neither wear, cut, burn, nor distortion. The

straps should not be rigid or discoloured. Check the state of the extension strap according to the same
criteria. Verify the presence and the bearing of the endings.
Buckles: Check the state of the buckles; they should be neither distorted, worn, broken nor oxidized.

Make sure they work properly.
Seams: Verify the condition of all the seams; there should be neither wear, cut, burn, nor distortion.

ateral D-rings (depending on model): Check the condition of the lateral D-rings; they should be neither

distorted, broken, oxidizes, nor worn.
Waist pad (depending on model): Verify the state of the waist pad; its condition should not affect the

use of the harness.
Ventral D-ring (depending on model): Check the state of the ventral D-ring; it should be neither

distorted, broken, oxidized, nor worn.
Dorsal D-ring: Verify the dorsal D-ring; it should be neither distorted, broken, oxidized, nor worn.

Dorsal plate: Check the condition of the dorsal plate; there should be neither distortion, cut, nor burn.

Its state should not affect the use of the harness.
Sternal D-ring or sternal attachment point in webbing (depending on model): Verify the condition of

the sternal D-ring; it should be neither distorted, broken, oxidized, nor worn. The sternal attachment
point in webbing should be neither cut, worn, nor distorted. The webbing should not be rigid.
Secondary sternal strap or sternal strap (depending on model): Check the state of the secondary

sternal strap or the sternal strap. Make sure it works properly (opening, closing and locking).

rking: Verify the marking on the harness (identification label) and make sure the attachment

markings (A, A/2) are present and legible.
Comfort elements (depending on model): Check the condition of the comfort elements; their state

Retaining loops: Verify the presence of the retaining loops; their presence is obligatory and their

condition should not affect the use or the adjustment of the harness.
Overall Condition : Evaluate the overall condition of the product according of the above's checkpoints,
and the visual aspect of the product .
