PREPARATION AND CHECKS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION CENTRAL LATCH
PREPARATION:
1) Check that the door is in good condition and not warped.
Draw the vertical line "VP" or "VS" referring to the template used previously to install the emergency opener (see fig.1).
2) Carefully fix the templates, given on page 16, on the axis Vp or Vs at the required height, established by the installer
according to the type of fastening to be obtained and the size of the door.
INSTALLATION
3) To fit the spring latches on the AP001-PUSH BAR emergency openers, top/bottom and modular version, carry out the
steps given in the emergency opener instruction sheet up to "5d".
To fit the spring latches on the AP002-TOUCH BAR emergency openers, top/bottom and modular version, carry out the
steps given in the emergency opener instruction sheet up to "5c".
4) To fit the spring latches on the AP001 F-PUSH BAR emergency openers, top/bottom and modular version, carry
out the steps given in the emergency opener instruction sheet up to "5d".
To fit the spring latches on the AP002 F-TOUCH BAR emergency openers, top/bottom and modular version, carry
out the steps given in the emergency opener instruction sheet up to "5c".
The main boxes of the AP001 and AP002 series emergency openers (also in fire door version) are the same for overall
dimensions and positioning on the door with respect to the axis Vp, therefore the instructions for establishing the length
and fitting the connection rods and rod covers are the same for all the types of emergency openers.

5) Mark the position of the fixing holes for the top and bottom spring latches. Drill the four Ø3 holes.
If the shape of the profiles does not allow one of the three holes provided for to be drilled, make the third hole in the
middle.
6) Remove the templates and fit the side spring latches on the door, using the screws supplied.
7) Measure distances X and Y (see fig.3).
8) Fix the plastic holder plate for the top rod cover to the door at the half way point of distance X along the VP/VS line
using the countersunk self-tapping screw (see fig.3).
9) Cut the threaded rods to the following dimensions:
- top rod length: X + 15
- bottom rod length:
N.B.
If the emergency opener has been installed at the recommended height of 1115 mm above floor level, the bottom rod fund
should not need shortening.
10) Fit two rubber rings A provided in the kit to both rods (top and bottom). Position the rings at about 1/3 of the rod length
(see fig. 4).
11) Screw the nut C on to one end of the threaded rods B and then screw on the bushes D. Tighten the nuts C firmly
against the bushes (see fig. 4).
12) Screw the threaded rods on the bushes E fixed to the top and bottom spring latches.
13) Secure bush D to the main mechanism with screw F
