Installing the New Engine
Parts needed for this procedure:

Procedure
Note: Refer to Figure 1 for installing the new engine.
1. Install the new door on the discharge tunnel.
2. Install the fuel tank (with the new fuel tank cap)
on the tank base with the 2 screws you previously
removed.
Note: Secure the tank bracket with 3 fasteners
(from the loose parts bag) and use blue Loctite (242).
3. Install the new engine on the mower housing.
Note: Torque the engine mounting bolts to
200–250 in-lb.
4. Install the BBC assembly.
Note: For information on installing the BBC
assembly, refer to the Walk Behind Power Mower Drive
Systems Service Manual (Form No. 492-4733).
5. Install the blade.
Note: Torque the blade bolt to 250–320 in-lb.
6. Attach the new fuel hose, fuel filter, and clamp to the
engine and the fuel tank.
Note: The short hose attaches to the fuel tank.
7. Install and adjust the new throttle control cable.
8. Replace the belt cover.
