FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

Headband
(B:1) Slide out the cups and tilt the top of
the shell out, as the cable must be on the
outside of the headband.
(B:2) Adjust the height of the cups by sliding
them up or down while holding the
headband in place.
(B:3) The headband should be positioned
across the top of the head as shown and
should support the weight of the headset.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Inserting batteries
To remove the outer shells:
Insert your fingers or a tool under the edge
of the outer shell clamp and pull out (C:1)
and down (C:2) to unlock the outer shell.
Remove the shell by lifting from the bottom
edge.
To attach the outer shells:
(C:3) Press down on the clamp of the outer
shell to ensure it is in the unlock position.
Position the tab on top edge of outer shell
(C:4) into the slot on the top edge of the
earcup (C:5).
(C:6) When the outer shell is pressed fully
into place, slide the clamp upwards to lock
the outer shell to the earcup.
Switching the headset on and off
Press and hold the On/Off button for two
seconds to switch the headset on or off. A tone
will confirm that the unit has been switched on
or off. The last setting is always saved when
the headset is switched off. The headset is
automatically powered off after two hours
of no active functions. This is indicated by a
tone signals the last minute, then the headset
switches off.
Volume
The volume of the level-dependent function
for ambient listening is continuously adjustable
from min to max. It helps protect your hearing
from potentially harmful noise levels. Constant
rumbling and other potentially harmful noises
are reduced, and you can still speak normally
and make yourself heard. The amplification of
the ambient listening is toned down when an
external signal comes in through the external
input. Press and hold the (+) or (–) button to
increase or decrease the volume to preferred
setting.

STORING THE HEADSET
(D:1) WRONG: All headband wires must be
pushed in correctly before the headband is
collapsed.
(D:2) RIGHT: The ear cushions should lie
flat against each other.
If the hearing protector gets wet from rain or
sweat, turn the earmuffs outwards, remove
the ear cushions and foam liners, and allow
to dry before reassembly.
NOTE: Remove the batteries when storing
the hearing protector for long periods of
time.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Use a cloth wetted with soap and warm
water to clean the outer shells, headband
and ear cushions.
NOTE: Do NOT immerse the hearing
protector in water.
If the hearing protector gets wet from rain or
sweat, turn the earmuffs outwards, remove
the ear cushions and foam liners, and allow
to dry before reassembly. The ear cushions
and foam liners may deteriorate with use
and should be examined at regular intervals
for cracking or other damage. When used
regularly, 3M recommends replacing the
foam liners and ear cushions at least twice
a year to maintain consistent attenuation,
hygiene, and comfort. If an ear cushion is
damaged, it should be replaced. See Spare
Parts Section below.
REMOVING AND REPLACING THE EAR
CUSHIONS
(E:1) To remove the ear cushion, slide your
fingers under the inside edge of the ear
cushion and firmly pull straight out.
(E:2) Remove existing liner(s) and insert
new foam liner(s).
(E:3) Fit one side of the ear cushion into the
groove of the earcup and then press on the
opposite side until ear cushion snaps in
place.
