INTRODUCTION

The Arthrex Continuous Wave II Arthroscopy Pump AR-6450 is a safe, reliable, user-friendly
system which maintains constant, non-pulsed control of intra-articular rinsing and distension
pressure throughout all phases of an arthroscopic surgical procedure.
The integrated pressure sensor can be directly connected to the inflow cannulas for direct
pressure measurement. There is no need for complex secondary measuring systems or
extra venous access.
G
The continuous pulse-free flow reacts immediately to changes in the intra-articular pressure
so that joint distension can be sustained even under high shaver extraction volumes or
secondary outflow.
B
The nominal values for flow and pressure are adjusted at the control unit keyboard or by
using the remote control. The unit has two different tubes (a. roll pump tube, b. patient
tubing), so that the roll pump tubing can be economically used for an entire day of surgery
WARNING
The control unit is designed for continuous operation. The system is protected by a resetting
thermo fuse. In the event of a fault, e.g. excess current, the fuse heats up suddenly and the
device switches off. As soon as the thermoelement cools down, the fuse resets automatically
in about 30 seconds. The device can be switched on and started again.
WARNING
4
The patient tubing must be replaced before each new surgical
procedure.
This device should only be used by trained, qualified medical staff. Use
of this equipment by untrained personnel or use of this equipment for
indications other than those described may cause patient injury.
