Initial Setup

Problem
Causes
• Cannot see the Owlet Wi-Fi
• The Base Station is not turned on
during setup
• Already connected to the Owlet Wi-Fi
• The Base Station is out of range
• Cannot see your home Wi-
• Your home router is 5.0 GHz (Owlet only supports
Fi in the Owlet App
2.4 GHz)
• You may have a hidden router
• The Base Station will not

Solutions
• Plug in the Base Station
• Check if the Wi-Fi light on the bottom of the Base Station is on. If so, you can skip this step and
continue setting up your account in the app
• Move the Base Station closer to your Wi-Fi router
• Make sure your iOS device is connected to a 2.4 GHz network (most 5.0 GHz routers also support
2.4 GHz)
• Visit owletcare.com/support for instructions on hidden routers
• Double check your internet password
• Move the Base Station closer to your internet router for setup, then move the Base Station back to the
nursery after set up
• Try restarting the phone and reconnecting to your Wi-Fi
• Reset your Wi-Fi router
• Plug the Smart Sock back into the Base Station until the update is complete
• Verify that your iOS device is connected to same Wi-Fi network as the Base Station
• Press and release (do not hold) the small Register Button on the bottom of the Base Station and wait a
few seconds before trying to pair your Owlet account again
• Connect your iOS device to the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network as your Base Station
