5. Hold the thermometer parallel to the body
and position the arm on the chest so the
flexible measuring tip is well covered by
the arm.
This ensures that the measurement will
not be affected by the room air.
6. The temperature reading should take
about 10–30 seconds.
7. The temperature unit symbol will flash
during the reading.
8. When the peak temperature has been
reached, the temperature unit will stop
flashing and the thermometer will sound
10 long beeps. The measured tempera-

ture can be read on the LCD-display .
If the temperature is below 89.6 °F (32 °C),
the LCD-display will show "Lo."
If the temperature is above 109.2 °F
(42.9 °C), the LCD-display will show "Hi"
and the thermometer will sound 10 sets of
three short beeps.
