Status
Flame simulator performance
Normal
The light flashes for 50 seconds.
After these 50 seconds, the light turns off. The
flame simulator cannot be operated for a
further 20 seconds.
Fault
If the light does not turn on, this indicates one
of the following faults:
Low battery
Halogen fault
Total failure

Testing a flame detector

NOTICE
If the flame detector is exposed to a flame simulator, both alarm relay
and auxiliary relay and 0-20 mA output are activated during the
simulation.
► Disconnect automatic extinguishing systems or any external
devices that may be activated during BIT so that no fire
extinguishing measures are initiated.
1. Select the flame simulator that corresponds to the flame detector
(see chapter 2.3 on page 7).
2. Make sure that you are at the correct distance from the detector
according to both type and sensitivity of the detector (see
chapter 8.2 on page 13).
3. Power up the system. Wait up to 60 seconds for the flame detector
to turn to normal state (status LED flashes green at 1 Hz).
4. Aim the flame simulator at the target point of the flame detector so
that the simulator radiation is facing towards the flame detector.
5. Press the button of the flame simulator once. Keep the simulator
aimed at the detector for up to 50 seconds until the flame detector
signals an alarm.
