HYDRAULIC CONNECTION

A new safety device which conforms to current
1.12
standards (EN 1487 in Europe), pressure 0.8 MPa (8
bar) and size ½" in diameter must be fitted. The
safety valve must be protected from frost.
The pressure relief valve drainage device must be
1.13
activated on a regular basis in order to remove
limescale deposits and to check that it is not blocked.
A pressure reducer (not supplied) is required if the
1.14
supply pressure is greater than 0.5 MPa (5 bar) and
will be installed on the main supply pipe.
Connect the safety unit to a discharge pipe, kept in
1.15
the open air, in a frost-free environment, continuously
sloping downwards to drain off the heat-expanded
water or to allow for drainage of the water heater.
The working pressure of the heat exchanger circuit
1.16
must not exceed 0.3 MPa (3 bar), its temperature
must not exceed 100 °C.
DRAIN: Turn off the power and cold water supply,
1.17
open the hot water taps then operate the drainage
valve of the safety device.
NOTE: For water heaters under sinks, disconnect the
hydraulic unit and turn it upside down to drain.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

Be sure to turn off the power before removing the
1.18
cover, to prevent any risk of injury or electric shock.
Upstream of the appliance, the electrical installation
1.19
must have an all-pole cut-out device (circuit-breaker,
fuse) compliant with the local installation rules in
force (30 mA residual current device).
